I have always thought about the rise of AI and what will happen to the unskilled workers. Of course, they could be given a certain amount of welfare to enjoy a comfortable life, but at the end of the day they are no use. The population of the world will be dramatically culled to around 500m, when they no longer need you to serve their coffee or mow their lawns.
They are half way there, maybe more with the younger generation. You can see it now " why don't you want to be chipped? Are you a racist or homophobic?", " No no no definitely not, go on insert the chip and I'll prove I'm not ".
It's all tin foil hat stuff to many though.

Not being able to buy anything without a chip seems a bit like something I read too.
...will cause all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads, no man might buy or sell, unless he has the mark, or the name, or the number of his name.
