Does Trump have a plan to win the trade wars with the world? It doesn't look like he does

China is four times the size of the US, by far the biggest power in in the world's largest and fastest growing economic region, and has a more stable system of government that facilitates more effective decision-making and longer-term strategizing than America's system of government is capable of. Unless the US deliberately sabotages the economic growth of China specifically and the growth of most of the rest of Asia as collateral, which realistically it can only do by triggering a huge war that the whole region is sucked into, then it is inevitable that China will overtake the US as the world's primary super power.

The US needs to accept that the future of the world is a future where America is not the sole superpower, and adapt to this new reality. Fighting against the inevitable will at best weaken the US as it pursues a hopeless cause and at worst hurt other countries caught in the crossfire, turning the global community against the US and putting it on the wrong side of history.

Its kinda funny, the U.S. has been/is getting products for pieces of paper/digits.
So ya, a trade deficit, but who's getting the "deal"?

Not sure why Trump would want to change a "gravy" situation, I mean how much cheaper can anything be had?
Simply put ink on paper and trade it for anything available.

Now, the world is dropping the U.S. dollar, seems they're tired of trading products for paper/digits.

It is and will take some time for the situation to change, it took awhile to change from the pound too, but it's neat watching how the world handles the situation.

I think the next century is Chinas turn, there are elements in the U.S. that will squirm but the conclusion is inevitable imo.

Trump is doing everything possible to get the world to drop the american dollar as the reserve currency.

As that happens, we will see more equitable trade deals.

Unfortunately for the american people, the price of pretty much everything will noticeably increase.

I'm not sure what lead HitRed thinks the US has and could choose to give to China.

Germany is now seen as a global leader by many more people (41% of the sample), with China in second place on 31%. Russia has 27% approval for its global role according to the poll.
