Fine. Games on a flat felt top table with a stick & balls

I must admit I'm not very good at 8-ball. I enjoy it and 9-ball.

I don't understand snooker. :(

Anyone play? It's totally acceptable in Canada and probably a nice way to get indoors for the winter.

Here, billiards refers to a table without pockets. We call what you refer to "Pool", although Pocket Billiards is the fancy designation.

Love pool....have played in tourneys. 8 ball, cut throat and 3 ball are fun but bottle pool is our go to game.

Never tried snooker.

Well now. I love me some lurnin. I never even heard of "carom."

I wonder if the use of billiards here is a French holdover. Fascinating.

I have tried snooker. Can't remember what you have to do. There is a particular order of coloured balls and you keep retrieving some. Probably less complicated than it seems but...

Edit: Huh, not French.

Snooker is an underrated sport. It's a game for players who find pool too easy.

I played snooker for a few weeks. Not long enough to get good, but it was fun while it lasted.

Sure, if you're the kind of idiot that thinks apples and oranges are different without considering the similarities.

I used to enjoy "bar billiards" - a very small table, all shots from the same point, try to get the balls down without knocking over the pegs.

Nice bump.

I suspect using a sign that says, Billiards, is popular here because for some it makes the place sound less rowdy than, Pool Hall.
