Nations right to remain vigilant against facebook, NSA

News this week that Facebook has been routinely spraying its users data far and wide, including providing tens of millions of people's personal details to the American political establishment:

Hundreds of millions of Facebook users are likely to have had their private information harvested by companies that exploited the same terms as the firm that collected data and passed it on to Cambridge Analytica, according to a new whistleblower.

Sandy Parakilas, the platform operations manager at Facebook responsible for policing data breaches by third-party software developers between 2011 and 2012, told the Guardian he warned senior executives at the company that its lax approach to data protection risked a major breach.

When China prevented Facebook from operating within its borders, it was decried by the usual American propagandists as a closed, censored country. Now, increasingly, revelation after revelation about backdoor access Facebook provided to the NSA, its harvesting and sale of data to US political campaigns and big business etc. has proven again and again that Facebook, Google and others are tools of the American government and intelligence community.

If you want to guard your citizens and prevent American wholesale monitoring of your population, say no to Facebook.

So it's now leaked that I don't enjoy shoveling snow off the sidewalk but like hamburgers.

Why NSA, why?

I just think it's funny how some get derided for being paranoid anti government nuts, yet in the next breath those doing the mocking will cry about blm and police brutality. The government is quite literally seeking to take away what should be your rights on top of persecuting the poor and minorities.

This is only news because it's something they thought would be another smear on Trump. Obama did it and Bill Clinton before him to an extent.

This is the modern way of finding what the voters want. The new knocking on the door of the electorate. Facebook did nothing untoward, people on there like to share what they think/like/do so what's the fuss?

What is more disturbing is the double standards of the media and the willingness of the masses to believe them without question.

No argument there that previous Presidents had tried to pull this stunt off.

It's a different age and time where people spend more time on social media rather than socializing in person. For the few, like myself, who doesn't need 1,000 friends that I'll never see again or share everything that I do with the world, this is a problem for me and I don't want some spook glossing over my feed when I have everything set to private. Everyone should have a right to privacy, even on the internet.

Sure, half truths and everything, but it's everyone's obligation to take that same information being told through a TV and try and do some research on the topic. We're in a age where we have a plethora of knowledge sitting in our pocket, but people tend to mindlessly gawk about without even a thought.
