-------Trump could have said it the way the democrat "B" said he did...So what ...Just like at the convention last year,with the other gold star parents...Your family member is 18 years old or older, they sign up on their own...Family members have nothing to do what happens to the service person anymore...You don't get credit for one of them dying...Family members made no sacrifice ,the service person of their own free will did......Just like, the Vegas shooter's family are not responsible for his actions...People are not credited for good or bad things their family members do...JUST STOP ALL THIS EVERYONE GETS A PARTICIPATION TROPHY CRAP AMERICA... ...JUST STOP IT!!!!! Actually, having a son or daughter die is a terrible thing for a family to go through. It affects everyone in the family, especially since in most cases the deceased are young and healthy prior to combat.

When a parent or a grandparent dies, it's a sad event, but it's part of the natural order of things and relatively easy to accept. Most people expect to bury their parents or grandparents. When it happens the opposite way, it's far more devastating. One doesn't expect their 21-year old son who was the very picture of vibrant health to come home in a box. Yes, he willingly took on the risk, but that doesn't make it any easier for his loved ones to deal with.

In addition to the horrible emotional blow, there's also a tangible loss, especially in rural areas. Losing a young man who was expected to take over running the family farm or the family business when his parents got old is quite often a major economic setback to the family. This was more true when most people were farmers. It's not as important now when most people are doing desk jobs in the city, but it still takes a toll.

------Duk, that is not what I meant and you know it...Yes for the family it is a loss....The service person gets a medal/honor/glory ,not the family...nor should they......What those two parents did last year at the convention,prancing around the stage was sick and disgusting,using their son's death for political motives... ...Such a thing is private for the family...The family members don't need to be called heros,gold or anything else ,labeled gold star...etc...Just because someone in their family gave their life for their country...It is just plain sick and wrong to want to ride the coat tails of your fallen family member...PERIOD ...
