And they look HOT doing it! Lingerie Football League Responds to NFL: ‘We Stand!’

The all-woman league formerly known as the Lingerie Football League announced this week its belief that America's flag and national anthem are "far too sacred" to protest.

The league, recently rebranded as the Legends Football League, said in a Tuesday statement that its players would not be taking a knee during the national anthem as many of their male counterparts in the NFL have done.

"The LFL recognizes everyone's First Amendment right to protest, but our nation's flag and anthem are far too sacred," the league said. "Too many fellow Americans have made the ultimate sacrifice, so that our flag and anthem continue in all its majesty."

God Bless America!

Indeed it would...

I can't say I'm really surprised though that tzor wouldn't be interested in the rights of those who disagree with him or that he'd love to parade those who will pander to his viewpoints out of desperation for viewership. It seems to fit his methodology.

There is an irony for anyone who protests the defenders of those who ensure that INALIENABLE RIGHTS prohibited to be abridged by the Federal Government by the Constitution wanting to so embrace the very Constitution they wish to destroy for the sole purpose of destroying the government under the Constitution.

And hell if you have to protest something, please make it a real something and not this half baked fairy tale of smoke and mirrors. (Oh wait, that is the entire history of the Democratic Party since the days of the Fire Eaters.) You do not have a right to protest things that are not true.

Somehow I have the feeling Woodruff would be arguing for the Free Speech rights of KKK members to publicly burn crosses. Free Speech doesn't cover the right to f*ck people over or to threaten, even emotionally, anyone, especially those not related to the original argument of the statement that is being made. I don't care if it is those wackos who scream obscenities at the widows of deceased military who are burying their dead, or whatever. You have the inalienable right to say the National Anthem sucks. You don't have the right to traumatize anyone no matter how noble the cause you think you have. Period.

Haha! Sure you do. People do it all the time. It makes one look like an idiot, but hey, part of freedom means free to be a moron. In fact, you can claim to protest one thing but in reality you are protesting/attacking something else. Which is often what happens.

Now, people like Antifa, who claim they are "protesting" against fascism or Trump or whatever are in reality little commie bitches who yearn to overthrow the government and see installed their own brand of "benevolent governance". As free men (and womyn) it is up to the individual to distinguish the truth as best as one is able.

Now I would not do these things, but disrespecting the flag and the anthem is absolutely Free Speech. Plain and simple. One can burn a flag if they wish, though it fills me with revulsion, it is the epitome of free speech. So long as they don't steal someone else's flag (someone else's property) which would be theft and vandalism, one can do such a thing for whatever reason they want. One partaking in such action though is not free from other people exercising their own free speech and saying such a person is a moron and refusing to associate with said flag burner.

If the NFL and the NFL teams want to squash this behavior by their players they absolutely can do so. It's not your right to force the NFL to squash such "protests", though you can certainly voice your own opinion on the subject. Ultimately it's up the the NFL and the teams to decide. For my part, I don't buy tickets to go to games, buy any NFL products or even watch football. I suppose that's my own way to "protest" the morons who turn a sports game into a political morass.

Freedom means the freedom to burn one's own golden goose as it were if they are moronic enough to do. Gotta take the good with the bad I suppose.

Why not? You can burn a bible in protest can't you? Why not a cross? You can't burn a cross in someone else's yard, that's trespassing and harassment, but if you wanna build a cross in your own yard and burn it, for whatever reason, why not? So long as you don't violate any fire laws that are designed to protect private property, absolutely you can burn a symbol of pretty much anything as a form of protest.

tzor wrote: Free Speech doesn't cover the right to f*ck people over or to threaten, even emotionally,

You can't threaten physically sure, but emotionally? WTF? If that's the case then no form of protest is all right because someone somewhere is going to be or claim to be "emotionally threatened" what the f*ck ever that means. Apparently there are ton of people who are emotionally distressed that moron NFL players are kneeling during the anthem. Apparently there are people who get emotionally distressed when people protest abortion. Etc Etc Etc.

The IRS traumatizes me every fucking year.
I'm traumatized every time I see Pelosi's blank stared dead eyed blub blub moments where see appears to be suffering from advanced senility or alzheimer's, and that crazy bitch is making laws! I'm traumatized every time I hear Hillary's shrill voice spouting out inanity and lies, I suppose I can claim they don't have a right to do such things to me, eh?
I'm traumatized every time Sym posts his banality.
Some people are traumatized every time Trump tweets or opens his mouth.

Big fucking deal.
The emotional argument against protesting doesn't fly. No matter how disgusting one finds certain free speech, appeals to emotion are not grounds to limit free speech. Free speech doesn't exist to protect nice, friendly, pretty and non controversial speech. It exists to protect the dirty, filthy, controversial and provocative speech. And Thank God for Free Speech.

I'm going to ignore the obvious answer (because a cross is bigger you idiot, a single book doesn't have the potential to be a fire hazard but a 8' tall blazing cross can cause massive damage if the wind picks up) and go for the not so obvious answer. Burning a cross, even not on someone else's yard is an intimidation tactic; it's a warning that violent and illegal activity will follow. And as much as I hate to use the term "dog whistle" that is precisely what it is.

Burning a cross is harassment, plain and simple. It is intimidation. No one who burns a cross does so because they don't like the symbol.

patches70 wrote:The IRS traumatizes me every fucking year.

But they have the legal right to do so. (And if you weren't violating the law so blatantly you would have no need to fear the IRS, right? I'm sure you have heard of the "Fresh Start Initiative" call that tax company that advertises on the radio; they will solve your problems.)

Har, I bet your a Debbie Downer at all the bonfire gatherings. "Put that fire out you'll burn us and the whole neighborhood down!!1!"

The IRS crack was a joke, get your joke software updated for the love of God.

Lemme ask you, is this intimidation or free speech-

Image

That's an easy one, free speech, even though he is starting a fire in public, there is a reporter there so it's all right.

Here, is this free speech or racism?-

Image

Now that's a decent sized fire and it's a black guy effigy being burned. Ya think Obama should be intimidated? Should the Secret Service be called and sent out to talk to each and every person at this event? Naw, it's free speech. Hopefully no one got singed.
These are government types, so they are easy to just say free speech, there is no question obviously.

Here is a harder one, is this free speech, intimidation or racism?-

Image

Opps, they are burning crosses! Holy shit you said that burning crosses is only done to intimidate and threaten. Is that what these people are doing? Those fires look pretty unsafe as well and they are walking down the middle of the street! Where are the police when ya need 'em. Maybe call the fire department while you're at it.

People burn stuff all the time as a symbol. You can view those symbols in anyway you wish. If my black neighbor made an effigy and labeled it "White People" and set it on fire, should I look out my window and be intimidated? Should I fear for my life? Should I call the cops and say the guy is threatening me?
Him burning said effigy isn't a threat to me. Him coming onto my property armed is a threat.

The KKK marching down the street (exercising their free speech by the way) could be and would be viewed by some at intimidation and threatening, yet the SCOTUS is very clear on this very subject. It's free speech. Disgusting speech to be sure, but free speech regardless. Burning a cross in you own fucking yard is disgusting, but it's free speech so long as no fire ordinance laws are violated. Though there may be laws in some states that would criminally punish such an act.

Anyway, there aren't cross burnings so much anymore. Except in England apparently. Don't tell me you see racists under every bed and in every closet like the hysterics that seem to be all the rage now a days. Since Trump go elected suddenly there are tens of millions of actual racists running around America.

Sorry to refute that narrative, but there is but a tiny percentage of actual racists in the US at least. There are a hell of a lot of bigoted people, virtually every person I've ever met is a bigot in one way or another. But in all my years I don't think I've actually encountered an actual racist. I might have but I can't read minds. I can only read actions and I've never seen an actual cross burning in person or met anyone who has ever done such a thing.

The exaggeration of statements like "Bern will argue for the KKK burning crosses next" is just stupid talk. The KKK and the number of racists individuals in the US is about as big a pimple on my ass. Maybe you get intimidated by ass pimples but I assure you, they pop easy.

You have the right of free speech (free from government ... not from everyone else). Just because a protest is "peaceful" doesn't mean that's it is protected, proper, or permitted.

People like you love to shout "peaceful protest" when it's your cause of the moment, but then you see a bunch of nuns on the other side of an abortion mill praying the rosary and you go ballistic.

I can just imagine every Hillary Clinton book signing being accompanied by a dozen people with Benghazi signs. Suddenly, that peaceful protest thing goes away from your lexicon.
