Hemingway's Cats REFUSING TO EVACUATE Florida

As people evacuate the Florida Keys ahead of Hurricane Irma's anticipated landfall on the Sunshine State, a handful of people and 54 cats will weather the storm at Ernest Hemingway's former home.

The cats of the Hemingway Home Museum will be free to come and go between the hurricane-proof buildings as Irma sweeps across the islands. Each of the buildings at the museum will have entrances for the cats. The bathrooms will have chairs and benches for the cats to escape to. They also have drains inside of them, keeping the cats from potentially drowning while they seek shelter.

This was Hemingway's home from 1931 to 1939, although he retained title to the home until he died.[1] It is a private landmark and tourist attraction now populated by six- and seven-toed cats that are descendants of Hemingway's cats.

I don't understand the question. Where can I send the cheque to make sure Hemingway's cats are supported during this time?

Hemingway's cats don't need your handouts. Hemingway's cats will be sending you the cheque.

I like in the first picture how they put his mom or whomever in the back. "The dog likes to sit there. Find your own seat."

More or less related. Chick on CJ 92 was talking about a group of people who checked in yesterday for a flight to Cuba. She was a bit vague about wether the flight actually went but she did add, "It's hard to feel sorry for them if they go right now."

Has America granted pets the right to operate vehicles?

Time for that stupid broad to buy a pit bull. Problem solved. Now she needs a good lawyer to divorce that guy who puts that cat before his wife.

So, is there an update? Did they come through the storm okay? I googled it but found nothing. Most recent article was more than two days old.

Too soon to tell.

It turns out the animals at the Miami Zoo have also REFUSED TO EVACUATE. Here are some flamingos who are riding out the storm in the men's bathroom -

"That's probably the No. 1 question I get asked: 'Oh my God, when are you going to evacuate animals?' We are never going to evacuate animals," Magill says.

I'm actually cool with NPR. They have been very reasonable to President Trump and haven't been running Fake News like CNN. (That said, I prefer the BBC World Service because I don't like the speaking style of NPR reporters which has this gee-whiz! Middle American, moronic twang.)

Of course, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting should still be eliminated, but that's whatever.

This is probably a good time to remind you that there are 7 billion songbirds in North America and every year housecats kill 3.7 billion of them. I for one can now rest assured knowing that Hemingway's paw patrol has survived to ensure none of those pesky migratory songbirds can invade Canada ever again.

All birds lack cloacal control. I believe the scientific term is 'roprotemesque'.
