Believe it is very difficult to use, "May I..." Instead of saying "Can I..."?

The use of can is so prevalent it just tends to happen.

My wife's pet peeve is people who say "no problem" instead of "you're welcome."

Say "thank you" to a waiter who's under 30 and you'll probably hear "no problem" instead of "you're welcome." Yeah, you illiterate thug. I knew it wasn't a problem for you to bring me that pepper shaker, but it would be nice to hear that I'm welcome here.

Thanks, Duk. I was searching for the perfect response and your gripe inspired me: https://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=17541328

However, saying ''your welcome'' before the thank you is even more obnox. For example, rop does that all the time in GC.

Yeah, that's annoying. People who think their witty commentary has enough value that you were planning to thank them for it.

It's an appropriate response (just barely under 30 here). Maybe it's inspired by de nada, which is perfectly acceptable in Spanish.

Poor French lessons for honglaise speakers are probably to blame also. They suggest "de rien" which means "it's nothing" as the response to merci.
