Another victory for Trump's foreign policy apparatus. Look forward to seeing the Dems spin this into a story about how Trump's smashing terrorism but he's doing so the wrong way.

The only thing Trump is doing is smashing his own reputation and that of his administration.

Trump has no foreign policy.

Iran certainly agrees that this is all Trump's doing.

Basically, Obama had 8 years during which he oversaw the rapid growth of IS in Syria, Iraq and Libya.

Trump has had less than 8 months and already Arab nations are putting a choke hold on regional terror networks.

Trump wins by KO!

Is President Trump planning to strengthen the air bases in Qatar, leave them the same or move them?

Do they? The last time either the UK or France vetoed a Security Council resolution was in 1989, and that was to protect the US.

The last time either one of them used their veto for their own purposes was in 1976, and that was over something completely inconsequential (whether or not a small island in the Indian Ocean belonged to France or Comoros).

The Security Council is basically just America, Russia, China, and America's cheerleaders.

Qatar is a POS. It's filled with Salafi assholes. When a Muslim blows himself up in the middle of a concert and blows up little girls and teenagers, the asshole was a Salafi most likely. Salafi's are such assholes that other Muslims hate them. When people say "These terrorists don't represent True Islam" they are talking about the Salafi movement. The Salafi's and the Wahhabi are vile incarnations.

Saudi Arabia has a large amount of Salafi as well who consider themselves as Wahhabi, but to my eyes there is little difference between the two. Saudi and Qatar have never liked each other very much. What really pissed Saudi Arabia off was the so called Arab Spring in Egypt. In Egypt it started off as food riots and ended with the Muslim Brotherhood taking over the government. The Brotherhood was supported by Qatar. Saudi Arabia doesn't like the Brotherhood because the House of Saud views them as revolutionaries trying to knock off Ruling Families. The House of Saud is particularly anxious of such things for obvious reasons. The House's fear and paranoia of overthrow really fuels their totalitarian and repressive regime IMO.

Anywho, the Egyptian military really hates the Muslims Brotherhood and after a while the Egyptian military went ahead and removed the Muslim Brotherhood and resumed their normal campaign of killing and imprisoning as many of the Brothers as they can get their hands on. Since Qatar supports the Brotherhood both morally, materially and financially it's fairly obvious whey the Egyptians hate Qatar.

Qatar is also a major player behind the scenes in the attempted overthrow of the House of Assad. It's the Qatar Natgas pipeline that needs to go through Syria after all and Assad has denied them permission to build it.

The US interest in Qatar is corporate. US oil companies have invested a whole lot of money building and developing Qatar's ability to exploit it's vast Natgas supplies. Qatar is probably has the second largest or largest liquid Natgas reserves in the world and before the US companies came and developed all those resources to exploit those reserves, that Natgas was just sitting there because Qatar doesn't have the technical know-how to actually build Natgas exploitation infrastructure. All the Qatar could do was pump the stuff out of the ground and load it onto tankers to be shipped to customers, a very expensive and time consuming effort. To truly get the most bang for their buck they need a pipeline to move the product. A pipeline that has to go through Syria. Saudi Arabia long ago banned the Qatari from using their pipeline infrastructure because of previous reasons mentioned, the Saud just don't like the Qatari.
The whole war in Syria, all those deaths, the mass migrations, the refugee crisis, the terrorist attacks in Europe, all caused because Qatar needs to build a pipeline through Syria and Assad told them to go f*ck themselves.

The US supports the "moderate rebels" in Syria because of lobbying efforts from US oil companies who are looking for a return on their investment of billions into the Qatar Natgas facilities that they built for the Qatari. Previous of this the US government got along just fine with Syria and Assad.

Qatar is the puppet master behind the scenes that have long since been financing and sponsoring Salafi Jihadism around the world. Make no mistakes, the Salafi movement is dangerous, breeds extremists and suicide bombing losers who have no problem with blowing up a bunch of teen girls having fun at a concert.

It is also possible that Saudi Arabia is covering it's own ass so to speak by doing this, since Saudi Arabia is also a sponsor of terrorism and extreme Wahabbism which is just as bad as the Salafi movement. In fact, a lot of Salafists consider themselves Wahabbis. If your country is infested with Salafist and Wahabis, then you're going to have a bad time. If your country has numbers of other Muslim sects, say Zadi or Shafi'i for instance, you aren't going to have any problem with them at all. They don't tend to blow themselves up at concerts attended by teen children and pretty much just mind their own business.

So, in short, f*ck Qatar.

It just blows me away. For years, literally years, we've had saxi bitching about how contemptible the Saudis are. Now Trump spends two days kissing the Saudi king's ass, and suddenly saxi is a drooling Saudi-worshiper, desperately in love with them.

The cognitive dissonance must be a freight train. If anyone was ever under the illusion that saxi had any integrity, they need just visit this thread.

This is Saxi's post in this thread. I've read it, I reread it. Nowhere can I find anything resembling what you are describing. In fact, Saxi doesn't actual say a single word himself, every single quote is from the article he linked to. This seems that he is merely posting current events. Please, bold out the "saxi is a drooling Saudi-worshiper, desperately in love with them".
You might be right, I don't know. But you said one need only visit this thread to see Saxi being a drooling Saudi lover. For the life of me I haven't found even a single word from his own hand other than the title of this thread.

Please, Duki, point out exactly where Saxi is gushing all over the Saudi's in his post. May the people who wrote the article are gushing over the Saudis? Maybe? I'm not sure I see that either, it just looks like factual news from actual current events with no personal thoughts associated at all. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh, and he does toss a couple of zingers at beitko. That looks like he's making fun of Europe, Spain more specifically and the horror that happened in France a while back. No mention of the House of Saud.

On Monday, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE gave Qatari nationals two weeks to leave, banned their own citizens from travelling to Qatar, and cut all transport links.

IOW, the Saudis, who are just as active as Qatar in propagating Muslim extremism and Jihad, are going to scapegoat Qatar. In return, the Americans will continue to ignore the Saudi's role in propagating Islamic terror, as well as the Saudi's barbaric human rights abuses at home.

Yeah, great deal. Hope you use a good dental rinse.

WTF You gonna lay that out all on the US alone? Hey, Duk, guess who is Canada's largest trading partner of the nations on the Arabian Peninsula? Saudi Arabia.
Canada is just as willfully ignoring Saudi atrocities as anyone else you could point the finger at. I guess if you wanna find anyone who ignores Saudi barbarism all ya gotta do is look in a mirror.

I agree with you in that the Saudis are just as active if not more so than Qatar in propagating extremism and that they are are probably deflecting attention from themselves by accusing and acting against Qatar. I disagree though with the "Americans will continue to ignore Saudi's role".
It's far more truthful to say "the Americans, Canadians, British, German, French will continue to ignore Saudi role in propagating extremism".

Don't just single out the US by Jove, be honest with yourself at least and acknowledge your own government does the exact same thing as the US.

Yes, absolutely. I don't disagree what you've said there. Most of the world is complicit.

The reason I brought it up as an American problem is because a lot of Trump supporters were saying it would all end when he was elected. Trump was supposed to be the un-intimidatable un-buyable plain-speaker who would call a spade a spade and not roll over for the Saudis. Instead, business as usual.

The other world leaders are also spineless and corrupt for not standing up to the Saudis, but nobody told us they would be anything else.

I'm reasonably sure True-dough would rather something unpopular such as Oil is extracted and processed there, sent to China to be made into pastel coloured plastic products that appear pretty, therefore must be good for the environment, which is only important for his popularity.
