The author of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, one of my favorite books, died today.

Damn, Hunter S Thompson is gone, Stephen King has become a SJW, Tolkien and Hubbard are long dead. Soon there will only be grunting chic lit bondage serial pulp novels being produced.

I was about to say "Arthur C. Clarke is still around" but then I googled it and it turn out he's been dead 10 years. I never knew. :oops:

and Joseph Heller, and Philip K Dick's long gone , too.... Listening to A Scanner Darkly on way to work this month ....

sadly the thing i remember most about Zen is that last bit about how the thing his son most got to see on the trip was the back of the narrator's jacket .... I really liked his book Lila, though....
