If a nation applies for membership of the EU, of course europe will pass judgement on the internal politics of the nation. Those fake wannabe europeans should simply show their true colours as another middle eastern nation rather than a european one.

BUT, it has the largest standing army outside of The U.S. of A. in NATO and that deserves some respect.

The west, that monolithic construct where everyone is the same without national character. The West couldn't agree on what size rail gauge to use, what language to speak, age of consent(Yes, bj I put that in for you), alcohol tax, hours in a working week, etc. Part of the west was Muslim, hell most of the Austria/Hungerian Empire at one stage was muslim. The spanish are squatters on muslim lands.
