Why are the pathetic All Blacks still ranked world no 1?

Last year New Zealand set a world record by winning 18 rugby test matches in a row. However, in their 19th game they were roundly spanked by a dominant Ireland.

England have just won their 18th game in a row, equaling New Zealand's record, and if they win their next game (also against Ireland) they will set a new world record. On their current run of form this is all but guaranteed to happen.

It is therefore safe to say that England's majestic and dominating team of warriors outclasses New Zealand's pathetic scrawny schoolboys in almost every aspect of the game (New Zealand's pre-match dancing is still way cool though). How, then, do New Zealand aka the All Blacks aka the Pacific Island Nations Federation Rugby FC remain ranked world number 1? Is it a faulty algorithm, or some more insidious equal opportunities BS designed to help crappy teams gain a footing on the world stage?

You mean like last two Rugby World Cups?
New Zealand are 8 wins, 2 loses in 10 games against England, having scored 289 points in that time to England's 123.
New Zealand have beaten World Cup semi finalists 7 times since the 2015 world Cup England only 6 times.
New Zealand won 13 of 14 games last year, England only won 13
New Zealand won 11 of 12 in 2015, England won 8 of 12

Now sure neither team played each other when setting these phoney record's, rightly belonging to Cyprus with their World record for most consecutive international rugby union wins at (24).

In fact last time they played each other was 2012 and yes England won.
It's two Heavyweight boxers dodging each other.

Aside from that the system must be flawed, Scotland is ranked 5th!

Yeah, that's either a joke or a sad reflection of the current state of international rugby. There must be bonus points for beards or something.

Talking about beards..... Used to be in the gay community in years past your <cough> "partner" of the opposite sex for society to see was a beard, to hide your true face and inclinations. Though me thinks Mrswdk was being catty rather than commenting on sexual orientation. After all there haven't been too many chinese bearded ladies.

ITT: Bogan watches rugby not for the sport, but for those short little shorts.
