In Japan, it's kind of a thing. Not the hair- that's just pluckable, but a big mole. Whatever feature it's next too, at least traditionally, it's supposed to accentuate the power of that feature. Mole next to an eye,- keen perception; mole next to mouth- speaking well; etc.

Pretty sure it was a big thing back in like the 50s here. Didn't Monroe have a fake one? Classic pinups had the moles.
