"Classic" Metallica

What ever happened to James Hetfield? The answer: Bob Rock. Man Metallica used to be so good. I know it's been said thousands of times before, but just listen to Puppets! Can't compare. How could a band fall apart like that.. and it's not age - listen to the new Megadeth album and Dave Mustaine sounds like rust in peace all over again. Anyway.... just wanted to see the forums opinion on old metallica. :?

Masters is the best, but new Metalicca is good too.

And so is all of Megadeth.

Only thing good to come out of Metallica was Enter Sandman. Other than that I'm not really a fan. I'm a bit more into the '50s - early '80s stuff when it comes to rock.

I can't remember anything
Can't tell if this is true or dream
Deep down inside I feel to scream
This terrible silence stops me

Now that the war is through with me
I'm waking up, I cannot see
That there's not much left of me
Nothing is real but pain now

Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please god, wake me

Back in the womb it's much too real
In pumps life that I must feel
But can't look forward to reveal
Look to the time when I'll live

Fed through the tube that sticks in me
Just like a wartime novelty
Tied to machines that make me be
Cut this LIFE off from me

Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please god, wake me

Now the world is gone I'm just one
Oh god, help me
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please god, help me

Darkness imprisoning me
All that I see
Absolute horror
I cannot live
I cannot die
Trapped in myself
Body my holding cell

Land mine has taken my sight
Taken my speech
Taken my hearing
Taken my arms
Taken my legs
Taken my soul
Left me with life in hell

Last album I respected was four leaf clover(and most of that was classic songs with orchestra) What happened to them? They sued Napster prooving they were in it for the money and not for the music. They found "God"

Love Master of Puppets
Im the one who voted for Garage Days w/ "Am I Evil?" "Mercyfull fate" and "So What" not to forget the rest...

Black Album was by far the best though.

Mostly classic, very little progressive. I like a certain degree of Pink Floyd, but the whole psychedelic genre never really appealed to me.

I'm big into the classics- AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, the Eagles, Van Halen, etc. along with a medley of '50s bands that no one's ever heard of ;P

You mean like the Troggs(50's), Tommy James(60's)?

Yeah every band loses their touch at some point, Metallica's time has come. I just hope their music isn't forgotten.

Speaking of Megadeth, any of you listened to the remake of A Tout Le Monde? Differant, but still cool in its own way. And United Abominations is sweet too.

Wow - that's one of the best in my opinion. Probably just an age thing. I'm 33. I was into it when it was originally released :)

I like it and I'm 16...the only problem I have with it is the solo.

GOod luck with all that. Kirk was a little insane with his solos back then. But you must be pretty damn good to play the rest of it.

I meant that I dislike the solo, not that I was learning this song on guitar.

I'm 14, and the problem with it is that it starts out too slow. REally, I just don't like it as much.

I like a lot of Megadeth. Some of the songs, mostly the songs in Youthasia, aren't that good.

I saw
Slayer, Megadeth, Testament, and Suicidal Tendencies on the same bill in 1990...Testament played a blinder of a set, and i got thrown out before slayer came on for stage diving off a bin the dragged into the crowd...ahhh, them were the days

Megadeth are the best, i saw them last year when they came over with "the system has failed", but missed them this time round.

Given that your name is that of a death metal band, I can see what you like it so much.

I don't care much for death or black metal. But Sepultra did a cover of the Black Sabboth Symptom of the Universe that was sweet.
