Music Thread- Music for gamers

So here's the challenge, post either:

1) Music from a game that you love

or

2) Music that you've played a game you love to.

The caveat: Explain if you choose the second.

I.e:

1) Portal 2: Exile Villify, by the National:

2) Rid of Me, PJ Harvey

Why? I was playing through Half Life on the PC and forgot that I had Polly Harvey's album in my cd drive at the time. This queued up exactly at the moment that I got dumped in to the waste disposal. Perfect revenge music.

Your second statement almost gave me an embolism.

I was at a friend's house a couple of weeks ago, he was showing me ff15. I was digging the theme song.

Somnus (Instrumental Version)

For part two, i used to play the shit outta ...And Justice for All and Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak when i was playing Oblivion, especially the Shivering Isles expansion.

Emerald is a pretty fucking epic song to kill monsters to.

It was dead on, TG, down to getting the weapons. If anyone here hasn't played through Half Life, you wouldn't get it.

Anyway:

2) I played much of Perfect Dark to Nirvana's Nevermind:

Why- I was a sad latecomer to Nirvana, I was into my books, not my music. Actual convo from the time-

Sym: You should listen to Nirvana, Nevermind is a great album.
Friend: That came out 3 years ago, we know.

1) Shadow of the colossus:

Also, this:

Red Dead Redemption, Dead Man's Gun- Ashtar Command:

Lesser known game but getting more attention are the Shantae games, which have BOMB soundtracks:

Games with music like that are why I generally don't listen non-OST tracks while I play games, but I've intrinsically linked Mass Effect 3's multiplayer and the Foo Fighters:

The foo fighters are rarely a bad choice.

So I like aggressive music. I like to listen to things that hype me up. It doesn't matter what I play as long as it's aggressive but here's my mix.

I think I'm getting old, I didn't understand more than 1 word in 10 of that.

But, I'm not one to judge:

The lyrics are in the description if you watch it on youtube. The song is over 10 years old. A lot of his lyrics mention games.

I like his stuff- Fett's Vette is great, just couldn't make much sense of that one.

It's in the original game, but you might have had trouble finding it under that name:

Another weird correlation I blame on video games corrupting my psyche at a young age, I think my enjoyment for Phil Collins stems from my enjoyment of Donkey Kong.

You be the judge:

And as a bonus, the best song from this trilogy:

And while we're talking about old timey songs in video games, one must always have Bioshock (it's a cover, too! It can go in the other thread!):

Shadow of the Colossus is one of my favourite games, and the intro sequence music is great:
