NFL player peacefully protests

I've always found the American reverance towards the flag and anthem of the US kinda creepy. When I lived there, it was kinda weird that kids had to swear loyalty to a flag everyday.

Now we have police refusing to look after the public unless an African-American NFL player pays homage and stops his Black Lives Matter peaceful protest.

Disturbing stuff.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The union for police officers who work San Francisco home games says its members may boycott policing the stadium if the 49ers don't discipline Colin Kaepernick for refusing to stand during the national anthem

Don't blame us. It was a socialist's fault.

Francis Bellamy and Upham had lined up the National Education Association to support the Youth's Companion as a sponsor of the Columbus Day observance along with the use of the American flag. By June 29, 1892, Bellamy and Upham had arranged for Congress and President Benjamin Harrison to announce a proclamation making the public school flag ceremony the center of the Columbus Day celebrations (this was issued as Presidential Proclamation 335). Subsequently, the Pledge was first used in public schools on October 12, 1892, during Columbus Day observances organized to coincide with the opening of the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois.

His original pledge was, "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

As for the reverence towards the anthem (and for some reason both are contained within the federal flag code laws) it's important to get respect whenever anyone plays a 19th century drinking tune To Anacreon in Heaven from London (and yes we ripped off most of England finest tunes for our own use, ever hear of "My Country 'tis of thee") one needs to wrap it up with respect. ALso remember this was the same people who took our first President based on the Constitution and painted him as an ascending god in the dome of the capital building.

He is simply exercising his right to protest. That's it, that's all. Many are reading way too much into it.

Yeah, they're all like 'he's complaining about der cops' when really he's just trying to draw attention to the insane 2-hour wait Domino's subjected him to when he ordered a pizza from them last week.

I think you may have misunderstood again, P. The Black Lives Matter movement is very much about the relationship between African-Americans and the antagonistic attitude that the police have towards them.

No, sym, I think you've misunderstood. Let me put it in no uncertain terms for you-

It is important, sym, that you listen all the way to the end.

You're welcome.

Patches, the Black Lives Matter movement isn't so easily dismissed. Perhaps you should read up on the issue instead of watching cartoons.

Sure the black lives matter is easily dismissed, lemme show ya!

There are five states of matter. Liquid, gas, solid, plasma and....Black Lives! Best start rewriting the all those physics books.

Of course black lives matter, but then again, I'm a guy who makes his living selling grape soda.

Like any movement it gets co-opted and commercialized, see-

Image

Every movement can and is made fun of and mocked as well. Black lives matter being no exception.

Image

Then you've got the politicians who don't give a shit about BLM except how they can use the BLM movement to further their own agendas.

Image

Then there is just the name itself and it's racist connotations. How would you react to a "White Lives Matter" movement? There are those, they just don't call themselves "white lives matter" but it's the same idea.

Image

It's all fucking racist. And nobody cares.

Did you know that more Colin Kaepernick jerseys have sold in the last two weeks than the entire previous eight months combined? People making lots of money on this and I'll give you a hint, it ain't Black lives matter making the money.
BLM is funded by Soros, that piece of shit fucktard who makes it a habit of profiting greatly on chaos. He burned the BoE for a tidy sum and broke a western nation's bank.

But whatever man, keep drinking the koolaid if it makes you feel superior. Whatever it takes to feel good about yourself I say, no matter how delusional you may be. Hell, the most delusional are probably the most happy, and the Black lives movement is delusional at best.

And within a couple of posts, P, you've shown that you care about it, albeit somewhat incoherently and very much hostile.

Now, will you admit that you were wrong about nobody caring? It's fine if you can't, it just helps me and others understand if we're talking to the Patches who doesn't care, or the Patches who is really angry about it.
