This thread is not about the banning [or not] of guns. No. This is a thread to consider that, if the LGBT community were in fact banned, would there be less mass shootings? Is that the real solution?

I think you've missed the key underlying issue - should Americans be banned?

Ideally yes but I don't foresee that noble cause gaining much support in said forums.

I dunno. OT regulars include a lot of Canadians, Euro types, Australians and saxi. A ban on Americans might have some legs to it.

I do not fit into any of the criteria for which we are discussing banning. Are you wishing to propose a new category?

If you ban us Americans, we'll simply go and found our own forum, better and bigger. And don't pretend like you'll get saxi, because unless you've got a Kohl's and Crab Shack, he'll be coming with us.

Manifest Destiny involved European settlers wiping out Americans to make way for the Europeans to take over their land. In a sense it was a de facto ban on Americans controlling (or even inhabiting) America.

So, today's Congress and Senate are the descendants of European immigrants, upholding their ancestors' ban on Americans in America.
