Phatscotty, Beware!

Superheroes are made in many different ways. Some through training like the Green Arrow, others through circumstance like Spiderman’s bite, and others by being absolutely and ridiculously wealthy, like Batman.

So if you don’t fancy an extensive training program, didn’t fall to Earth from a different planet and you can’t seem to get a radioactive insect to bite you no matter how hard you try, your only option is to become disgustingly rich and buy a lair full of gadgets in order to become the superhero you know you were born to be.

But just how rich would you need to be to become a superhero like Batman, with all his cars and gadgets as of "Dark Knight Rises"? Well, comic historian Thaddeus Howze has come up with a pretty specific answer.

$682,450,750, to be exact.

Couple of the charts in the article (plenty more where that came from):

i'm sorry but Oliver Quinn is ridiculously wealthy, just like bruce wayne or tony stark. or lex luthor.

Is there actually a super heroe or super villain whose lack of superpower isn't compensated by unlimited funds for expensive suits and gadgets?

I mean that suit and weapons combo there costs less than $1.5million. Just don't buy the ridiculous custom-made military vehicles and you won't have to drop that much.

Although of course, like Green Arrow Batman also goes through extensive combat training prior to becoming a vigilante.

How are terrorists able to inflict more damage than Batman?

Yeah, if you go to the full article they talk about the vehicles, the house, the butler's salary, and of course the training.

I don't think the suit and the weapons would keep you alive that long without the cave and the vehicles. You gotta sleep sometime, and you need a fast vehicle to get you to your lair when you're wounded, etc., etc.

And life without a butler is meaningless, anyway.

I have kids, they are pretty good at getting the mustard while we're eating.

Spiders aren't insects.

The whole article is invalidated!

I'm sure they meant to include ALL multi-legged manufacturers of fine venoms.

Batman doesn't kill, apart from the times he does.

Gotta adjust for Benflation since that's the old BatMan.

That's clearly deflation. Seriously, when you have to hire the least talented Affleck to play Batman, you're in trouble

Scotty, with you engaged and all, money is probably tight, so I took a collection and we bought you one piece of the suit.

You will be getting the knee pads by courier.
