so, just flipping through channels tonight, and flipped over to c-span2. hmm. showing the house of commons debating on leaving the EU. of course it won't get any air time in the US because of Trump vs. Cruz vs. all the other clowns. even tho' this is probably pretty big news for the brits.

anyway, an observation i've noticed is these guys/gals are really passionate about their politics. this looks like it could make prime time with the amount of humour/excitement/passion the folks are pumping into this. seems like they take their jobs seriously and are much more willing to work through issues compared to our guys here in the US.

I've watched some boring US discussions and it seems like they're more worried about scoring political points than doing anything that matters.

I'm sure it's not fair to say this after watching just 10 minutes, but so far it's quite a bit different.

I would love to have our politicians in America, debate like the British do. More entertaining and really more respectful.

People in the UK really can't stand those House of Commons debates. Everyone heckles each other and makes stupid quips and put downs without actually asking or answering proper questions. It's really childish.

The reason the speakers talk loudly to the point of almost shouting is just because that's the only way to get heard over all the shouting from the opposite party.

Not quite true, we have our own channel like C-span, BBC Parliament. Also, Prime Minister's Questions is a regular newsworthy event. I like that the PM has to face questions on gov't policy on a regular basis. Avoiding questions is noted.

Finally, much of the shouting comes from supporters too, traditionally "here, here!"

Some of the childish insults can be pretty fun. That's how I learned the sign language for bullshit.

You're welcome. To be fair though, we have the Channel to separate us from the French though.
