I think you're insane… You're supposed to buy linux, it's just that it's easier to find by downloading it (strange isn't it?). Also, Firefox isn't made from linux. It's from Mozilla.

However it is open source so you are allowed to re-engineer it to fix anything you don't like.
In addition you are legally allowed to just help yourself to it off the internet under the guise of, "I didn't like any of the original features so I got everything from people that changed it to my liking."
