Fines don't seem to do it. Coaches can still give their players motivation to "take" an individual out of the game. Today's Vikings game against the Rams was one such instance. Bridgewater should have never been hit like that, and that wasn't the only time during the game that a dirty blow was made. These players were trying to take out Bridgewater and they finally succeeded. Bridgewater had his knee hurt a bit earlier in the game with a low late hit that should have been called. The refs avoided calling that. Maybe if the refs would have called that incident earlier it could have acted as a deterrent to what ultimately happened.

I like a good hit as much as anyone else, but I don't like to see dirty, uncalled for hits.

When is enough, enough? And when do you take more action against players and coaches for dirty play?

My feeling is that fining a player isn't enough and maybe the league needs to start fining coaches as well...if that doesn't stop a team from dirty play, then suspensions are in order (either a set number of games or indefinite).

Saw the replay of Bridgewater getting hit. The defender gave him a good elbow to do it. I've seen such hits knock people out in the ring (MMA), but add to that running for 20 or so yards with all that momentum and then basically throwing your entire body into the hit? Not surprised Teddy was KO'd on the field. The elbows in the ring don't have the running start that the Rams player had.

Also seems that the Rams DC has a history of this sort of thing. I think it would be prudent to investigate him and this whole thing thoroughly. And if proper evidence is shown, boot the DC out of the NFL.

I'm not saying that that would have stopped the later hit, but the refs were a little light on late hit calls and pass interference. I'm just saying that if the refs had admonished earlier incidents, it may have acted as more of a deterrent later in the game before Bridgewater got knocked out cold.

I was watching the game live and seen the hit. I say the guy should be suspended for some games.
