Khabarovsk Novy Airport is the 13th busiest airport in the world, and has the best ICAO name: UHHH. Try explaining that to customs... where are you going? Uhhh... What is your name? Duhh...

Above all, my favorite is the airport logo:

I guess it's supposed to be a bear... I thought it was a pig... but I didn't look at the tail.

DTW is a pretty great US airport. I don't think I realized it, until I went to a bunch of terrible ones.

That list of top 100 doesn't have any military airports? Obviously the Osan US Air Force Base is top 10 (RKSO)

To be fair Incheon is a pretty amazing airport. I would not put Gimpo, JFK, Dublin, or Cinci, CDG, and MSP above DTW to name a few.

I have been through about a dozen of the airports on that list. I have to say that Athens must have improved since the 90's to make it on the list. Of the ones I've used I would say the best were Keflavic and Atlanta.

Athens airport still sucks. For some reason they placed most of their shops before entering the terminal, whilst all the bored passengers are in the terminal :-x

RKSO just moved up in the rankings, after the Pentagon sent Memorial Day cards...

I'm not sure what's so great about Hong Kong airport to make it number 5 on that list.

Beijing Terminal 3 is the best to spend time in, Schiphol is the best to transfer through. Ho Chi Minh airport gets a wooden spoon for being pure shit.

Atlanta is pretty good. Chicago would be great if there were less people. I've also enjoyed San Francisco and Amsterdam.

In terms of the bottom, I would go with Philadelphia and Orlando (despite the Disney vibe).

GANDER and it's early 60's appeal and art deco. They built this great airport for the Europe/North America run and opened it just when the flights went non-stop across the Atlantic. It's a 50 year old time capsule.

The Shanghai airport did not impress me but also did not disgust me. I was pleasantly surprised about how much libertarian literature I was permitted to smuggle in.

To be honest, I'm more surprised you were allowed to take that libertarian propaganda back to the US with you.

National geographic is not libertarian literature. A source of nude kiddie pics for our most vocal poster. Not libertarian literature.

I flew from San Fran to Shanghai. It took me about 30 minutes to get out of the airport from the moment I landed.

I flew from Shanghai to Chicago. It took me about 4 hours to get out of the airport from the moment I landed. Stupid Americans.

American airport officials are terrible. Superiority mixed with incompetence.
