LOTR was a nice trilogy, but the original Star Wars trilogy is a true classic.

It depends. If you include the new Star Wars movies aswell as the original, then LoTR, otherwise the original Star Wars movies take the bacon.

George Lucas had a great start but then he became corrupted with all of the things going on with the world today and made the others like one of those cheesy star wars books(which totally suck by the way). Peter Jackson, on the other hand, knew what had to be done and what a good movie requires which Goerge Lucas must have forgotten..

I think you are comparing apples and oranges here. LOTR is a fantasy genre movie set in a medieval timeline with the existence of magic. Star Wars is a Science Fiction Genre movie set in a space timeline with the existence of highly developed technology. Now if you compared Star Wars to Star Trek and LOTR to say, Harry Potter or something, this would be more of a discussion.

I voted for Star Wars simply because I saw the SW movies first and Star Wars generally makes better video and computer games.
