Heaven

Postby diddle on Sat May 19, 2007 4:43 am

I think that when die you get to live your life again, but in heaven. You can still remember you previous life so you get to rectify your mistakes and make some different decisions......oh, and the world is made so that everything goes your way, you get no more bad luck and you are the hero of every tale - a perfect world

also you can travel between reality and your 'heaven' to haunt whoever you like!

Whats your view/belief on heaven?

Lets not make this political, or religious, just state what you think or would like heaven to be like.

I would've been around 2000 by now if they hadn't deleted Spamalot......... :x

Anyway, I am Christian, but I always liked the idea of being reincarnated as what you would want to be. But anyways, I think heaven is really just a place where you could to whatever you want, and you could do a whole bunch of things you couldn't do on Earth, but since you go to Purgatory, everyone would be good, and therefore nothing bad would happen in heaven. I think it would be cool if one of the things you could do is be reincarnated as whatever you want, but you would have your memory wiped until you got to heaven again by dying. Anyway, that's what I think it would be like :D

31 posts now.

The only type of "afterlife" that there is even proof of is reincarnation, but even that's pretty sketchy. Anyways I'm a secular humanist, so no I do not believe in any afterlife.

yeah, in heaven you can drive big gas guzzling hummers and dump toxic waste all over the place and it doesn't matter, because its heaven! I cant wait to go to heaven, I've always wanted a Hummer, and piss in the mouth of a baby seal.

Heres a few of my theories (THEORIES I DONT ACTUALLY BELEIVE!)

1. Heaven is Hell and vice versa
2. There is no Heaven and no Hell
3. Reincarnation
4. Everyone is damned to Hell regardless of how you lived your life
5. Someone actually claims to be Jesus but we manage to kill him again for reasons unknown, and ultimately bringing Gods wrath down upon us, killing us all in fire and brimstrom (Armeggodon) and were all sent to Hell

Arent my veiws fun?!

I believe we just return to the Earth both physically and spiritually. ( maybe we get reincarnated if we're lucky enough to be needed by some higher power)

Exaltation and Nirvana, through the unity to become a god ourselves, to create a world in my image, a Eden or Shangri-la, Where the limitations of reality would be as broad as our imaginations, the power of the craft supported by the divinity.

Lets hope that the civilisation of my world is smarter then the humans on this world...

a perfect world would suck. there's no challenge. it's the downs of life that keep us from becoming monotonous machines put on earth for the sole scientific purpose of reproduction

I believe that, when you die, if you've been especially good, the Flying Spaghetti Monster will reach down and touch you with his noodly appendage.

That's it. Die, get noodled, then oblivion. But, it's still better than atheism - at least this way you get noodled first.

Why do people assume that in reincarnation you come back to Earth? What about the other life forms in different solar systems and on different planets? Could our souls not go to their?

I believe in reincarnation, and to an extent that if you lead a good life you come back as a better being, but if you lead a bad life you are "demoted".

I hope that I am reincarnated as a Bonobo Chimp; those things are the hardest-core creatures on the planet. 'Demoted', Schemoted; they have more fun in an afternoon than thirty humans have in a lifetime filled with sugar and yo-yo's.

I just want to ask a question to the theists here...

If we believe in the absolute concepts of heaven and hell - Good people go to heaven and bad go to hell - then I know heaven, for me, would involve members of my family who are homosexual. BUT homosexuality is a sin to some, and therefore those family members would be in hell... So it would not be my heaven whatsoever because it would not be perfect.

A non-religious discussion about heaven? Are you an idiot? How about a nice non-religious discussion about the bible while we are at it.

The reality...there is no heaven or other fluffy golden place where you dine with your ancestors when you die. The good news? There isn't a burning lava-land either.

This is your life. Live it for today, not for a fantasy afterlife.

QFT. I find that atheists actually sometimes live a more full life because they know and realize that there isn't anything past this. You've got one shot, make it your best!
