Lets start a thread on why Christians should not hold to their outdated, intolerant views. Why Christians should adapt to the world today. Why they should "just do what everyone else is doing".

What? Since when do all Christians have hold outdated, intolerant views, jay? This really looks like just another Christian-bashing thread. Pathetic.

This was sarcasm, moron.

They can hold whatever views they want, just don't force them on me, that's all.

but, but, but thats what WE are saying with the showing of Brokeback Mountain in school. This will never do.... I'd like some reasonable, well thought out views on why we Christians should not force our beliefs on others, but the world can force theirs on us. Come on, there must be some takers!

Because no one really gives a f*ck about some bearded guy who died 2000 years ago? Now stop making religion threads, it's stupid and unproductive. Show me one case in which someone has changed their mind after participating in such thread.

Show me a Christian who has become an atheist because he/she was ruthlessly bashed?

This is THE question we should asnwer.

Why can't we ALL get along for once?

( Before saying anything against me...I am not religious and I wouldn't even if my life depended on it..)

1) Someone has to be really ignorant to be an atheist. (You can't disprove god just as you can't prove it.)
2) I consider myself agnostic, and I don't expect you to convert your religion, I just don't give a f*ck about it. So stop talking about religion.

There, your logic is now fixed.

Don't misquote me. I also said you can't disprove god, but you can't prove it either.

Next time you misquote me I'll call you a liar. And that's a sin in your religion.

It's a favorite tactic of the christian right...change the words of someone in an attempt to discredit them.

Glad to see it doesn't work here either.

If anyone wants to read "what you also said" they can scroll UP. Its not a mis-quote, its a partial quote. And the meaning of those words REMAIN the same!

We can argue about semantics until hell freezes over, it's futile and it's stupid. Religion threads are even more stupid. That's why we should stop posting here.

The word is tolerance, or perhaps compasion. You know the things Jesus actually preached about. For someone w/ a giant banner about jesus on every post you seem to be awfuly ignorant of his actual teachings. Instead you get your viewpoints from televangelists and foxnews. read your scripture dude and stop giving people who believe that Jesus was one of the greatest teachers the world has ever seen a bad name. you make me sad.

The most common answer to that is an apagogical argument. For example, Santa Claus existence can't be disproved, nor the Invisible Pink Unicorn's. These beings don't exist however, but with the very same argument you used, you cannot rule out the possibility that they do indeed exist.

Not being an atheist myself, I have no good answer to that. Do you?

Sure I do, but it's long and boring, and I can't be arsed to discuss this subject. Take a philosophy course if you're that interested in that matter.

I do think that people should support their opinions with logical arguments or else not express them, especially when attacking a group of people (in this case claiming that atheists are ignorant). Do not urge me to search for the matter elsewhere, I'm answering you and expecting an answer from you. After all, it was you that started the discussion of this particular subject.
