I like the quick and easy recipe:
1 Can DelMonte Spaghetti sauce
Cayenne to taste
1 lb of extra lean ground beef (93/7 or leaner)
1/2 of a small onion, minced
1 clove of garlic, minced
2-3 sprigs of thyme, parsley, and basil
1-2 bay leaves
1/4 tomato, freshly diced
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp olive oil
Ground Tortilla Chips to thicken if desired.
Heat the spaghetti sauce. Then, in a large skillet, sweat the garlic and onion with the salt, then add the bay leaves, herbs, and tomato. After 2 minutes add the ground beef and cook until brown. Then add the meat mixture to the sauce. Toss in your favorite chili spices, I prefer to use cayenne and cumin. And if you like your chili thick, use ground up tortilla chips.
Yum!

I'm left wondering if this is a variation of the "dutch oven"?

sorry to be a pain but i just somehow hate it when people mispell things taken from other languages.
