"The Who" 'won't get fooled again'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cRPrbvI ... ed&search=

Half of "The Who", 'won't get fooled again' at live8.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zydAs5bR ... ed&search=

John Entwistle plays won't get fooled again with the audio isolated to just him. The sound doesn't come on for the first 43 seconds.

I do. For some performers, SEEING them is as important as hearing them. Here's a couple of my favourites:

Kate Bush performing Wow, er, "live". Watch out for the anal sex reference:

And, a real gem this, Devo's video of Jocko Homo:

Who doesn't love "Bush"?

I especially enjoyed the fact that the 'pistols' are linked from that page. "We mean it maaaaaaaaan!"

That is by far one of my favorite songs of all time. Not many like it surprisinlgy. I like that version better than the studio version.

I think, for the energy & excitement, it must rank as one of the greatest musical moments in human history... so many people playing so brilliantly and so 'together'... amazing... I was born too late...
[Suddenly remembering I'm british] I quite like it myself, actually...

[url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkyPZ08YhNg]We can dance if we wanno
We can leave your freinds behind
Cause your friends don't dance
and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine

Say we can go where we wanno
Place where they will never find
and we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind

We can dance
(francais)

We can go if we wanno
Night is young and so am I
and we can dress real neat from our hats to our feet
and suprise them with a victory cry

Say we can act if we wanno
If we don't no body will
and you can act real rude and totally removed
and I can act like an imbicle

I say,
we can dance we can dance everything's under control
we can dance we can dance they're doing it from wall to wall
we can dance we can dance everybody look at your hands
we can dance we can dance everybody's taking the cha-ance

safety dance well it's safe to dance yeah safety dance

We can dance if we wanno
We've got all life and mine
As long as we have music
Never gonna loose it everything'll work out right

We can dance if we wanno
We can leave your freinds behind
Because your friends don't dance
and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine

I say,
we can dance we can dance everything's under control
we can dance we can dance they're doing it from wall to wall
we can dance we can dance everybody look at your hands
we can dance we can dance everybody's taking the cha-ance

well it's safe to dance
a yes it's safe to dance
we'll a safety dance
oh safety da-ance
yes it's safe to dance
oh it's a safety dance yeah
well it's safe to dance
it's a safety dance
well it's a safety dance
and it's a safety dance
oh it's a safety dance

Hey, 2dimes, nice The Who video's check out this one:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=utpjQFBuQQM& ... ed&search=

On the Smothers Brothers Show...In this particular instance, Keith Moon packs the drums w/ too much dynamite, and blows it up right by Townshend, who blames the instance for him loss of some of his hearing in one of his ears. His hair also catches on fire! It's pretty sick. I love when Entwistle I just playing the bass and looking around like its nothing...classic Entwistle. I think Townshend gets sued as well ... So good

That was kind of his role the straight serious musician amidst the mayhem. As my buddie calls them now "half of the who."

I think I probably should have went and seen it when they came by now that I'm watching these but concert prices are out of control now.

Edit: check it out. Baba O'riely live at leeds.

Yea, thats pretty cool, I think I've seen it before, its on "The Kids Are Alright" video, which I have. But yea, its so awesome. Personally, my favorite song is "Love Reign O're me", but I can never find a good recording of it at Youtube. Whether its without moon and entwistle or not, I'd still love to see The Who live, but I'd just missing so much without entwistle or moon, so much character, they brought so much to the band, they all do. But still even with out them, they are the #1 band I would like to see in concert.

I recently read Moon was the insperation for animal on the muppets.

As well I notice he used the cat make up a bit. Was it before or after Peter Criss I wonder? Either way it's probably not just co-incedence.

This isn't music but it's an interview with Pete and Keith.
