Why is it acceptable to have a prejudicial view against Islam after 9-11, but not Koreans after what happened a few days ago? Korea has one of the worst Dictators in modern history, meanwhile Islam is not nearly as bad politically speaking. I'm just saying that shouldn't this knife go both ways? (Note: I am not advocating prejudice against either)

Who says its OK to be prejudiced against Islam? They're wrong.

Nearly 3000 people as compared to 30 isn't exactly to scale. So far Korea has one crazy guy who killed people, Islam has armies of crazy people who hate our guts. I'm not following you...

Acctually it's more of one race that hates us more than the rest.

Plus, i have to mention they were raised being told americans are bad so some dont know any different.

So they're brainwashed people who hate our guts. Koreans don't hate us. Chances are, they hate KJI, but they won't dare say it for fear of being killed. The VT killer was just a guy who was messed up naturally, not brainwashed.

I'll repeat again, why is it OK to be prejudiced against Islam? So far it seems to be because they have some kind of invisible crazy army...

Which race is that, then?

If I sound prejudiced, I apologize. I didn't mean to sound that way. My point is that anyone, despite their background, could be a time bomb and kill 30 people. Also, most Muslims hate us, but I'm talking about terrorist groups, like Hezbollah and Al-qaeda. They're the ones who take hate to the extreme.

Completely different circumstances. You can't blame Korea for some lunatic who lived here for 14 years, and happened to be Korean! Islam teaches that good Muslims should kill non-Muslims. It's in the Koran. What happened on 9-11 here in the USA was done in the name of Islam. Am I biased against Muslims? The Muslims who believe like this, yes, I am. Am I biased against Koreans? No, I have no reason to be.

So Hezbollah and Al-qaeda are represent most Muslims? Just like the KKK represent most Christians? And the IRA most Catholics?

Come on. Shake off that prejudice. The vast and overriding majority of Muslims are peaceful and law-abiding people who deplore terrorism and violence in general. They'd rather both the US and the Muslim world leave each other well alone, but the US won't leave the Muslim world alone polticially, economically and militarily and extremist whackjobs like Bin Laden feel its acceptable to fly planes into things. Believe it or not, most Muslim's aren't brainwashed. They are sensible and rational, just like me and... well... possibly you.

I didn't say they represented Muslims. I said they take hate to the extreme. And I believe any self-respecting Christian would not stand for the ideals of a group such as the KKK.

Other than that, I'd like to say I think rationally, but that is nothing but a fantasy.

Did that guy had anything against the American people? Did he make any claims glorifying north Korea? The fact that his origins are korean doesn't mean he kills for the sake of Korea.

But the KKK and the IRA are not international groups. The IRA ended in 1923, and the KKK have less than 3,000 members. They are country specific groups. Al-Qaeda is an international group, that committed the world's worst terrorist act ever, and the people who did it said they did it because "Islam must become the majority religion and must defeat America." They clearly want to represent Islam.

Just because some idiot gets in front of a camera and say "I represent all of Islam" doesn't make it so.

Do you think David Duke represents all white Christians?

Also, think about this, the KKK is only one portion of the world-wide aryan-supremacist movement.

You sir are a fool. The IRA's peak bombing campaign was through the eighties and early nineties.
They had links with Libyan and Colombian terrorist groups and, dare I say it, massive fundraising activities in the USA. How is that not international?

I didn't say they were international, I was just pointing out how its wrong to tar a whole religion or culture with one extremist brush.

And of course Al-qaeda want to represent Islam... It doesn't mean Islam feels it represents them.

And pancakemix:

pancakemix wrote:Also, most Muslims hate us, but I'm talking about terrorist groups, like Hezbollah and Al-qaeda.

Its the 'most muslims' that I'm debating. Have you ever met a Muslim? Did he hate you? I sure as hell have never met a Muslim who hated me... Plenty that hate the foreign policy of the US, but then so do I!

I don't think I actually meant to say that. I do know some people from Pakistan, but when the issue of religion comes up they won't talk about it. They do, however, make good pizza. They are really nice people. I guess I never really noticed how much I generalized about that...

Good :D Glad I've made you think about it. Is a refreshing change to the usual intractable opinions (mine included).
