I have been in CC a while and have noticed a vast greater number of capitalists to communists/Marxists, by which I mean no Marxists whatsoever. Therefore here is a place for all the Marxists to talk and whatnot in an equal setting from the rest of the forum.

Give it a few minutes, I think a lot of the people you're talking about are just building up a bit of courage to post here lol

There seem to be a lot of Marxists here abouts, to me.
I was in my younger days. Now I'm a post-structuralist. Ha, just kidding. Kinda.

There still seem to be a lot more people preaching capitalism, Luns for example. Still, its nice to see there are some Marxists about.

You need people with extreme views, you just have to be careful that you don't get swept away. We definitely need some more socialists, maybe even a few communists but we need to take baby steps, in congress, we're being swept away by big business and forgetting the little people.

ever since doing highschool in history i have leaned toward the left, i talk about it to people at school and when i talk about communism they instantly start the arguement "so if you where a doctor would you like to be paid as much as a street cleaner" its this ignorance which leads me to believe that nomatter how hard we try the greed and what not will always prevent the implentation of a utopian society

Are you saying that communism is the way to utopia? You, my friend, are the ignorant one.

see this is what im talking about, have any of you people so apposed to it actually studied it, i will say its most basic premise cause you are probly too busy treading on people to reach the top on a quest for more and more tainted money "give what you can and take only what you need" meaning everyone there is helping each other and every one gets an equal oppurtunity communism is the ultimate form of society and follows socialism once there is enough of everything to be shared with everyone. no one has yet actually implemented communism its been socialism, versions of marxism, marxist-leninist, maoists. they are all different.
and before you asked yes if i was a doctor i would gladly get 'paid' the same as a street cleaner (despite the fact that money would not be neccessary as people would be sharing everything, goods and services. which is sadly impossible due to greed that i see everyday).

i dont think weve come close enough to really seeing a communist society to really be able to judge whether or not it could bring people toward a utopia. The societies which have been famously listed as communist regimes never quite made it to the level that the people who came up with such ideas would have hoped it would.
At the same time, we probably will never get to that level of an idealistic society. But anyone who will claim that any kind of capitalist system has us any closer to utopia than any communist system is probably being just as silly.
thats why utopia is named what its named. We should always strive toward it, but realize we probably never get there.

What in human history suggests that communism leads to an utopia. It has always failed in the past. And if you were a doctor, you would not be satisfied with a street cleaner's salary

Communism leads to laziness. With everyone equal, there is no need to strive to be better. Thus innovation and progress ceases to exist.

Uh huh. Let's go down to the nearest Communist country, Cuba. Castro seems to be very greedy, with his people in poverty. Is that utopian? Let's head down to Miami with many people who have escaped from Cuba. We asked them if they want to live with Castro. They said:
"No! No deseo vivir con Castro! Deseo matar a Castro! "
Translated, this means "No! I do not want to live with Castro! I want to kill Castro!"
You are a fool to think Communism is better than Capitalism. Under Capitalism we have the greatest society in the world with many, many technological advancements with much wealth.

im sorry perhaps you cant read, in a communist society everyone would have had equal opurtunities so you mite have been able to understand my post, sadly this does not seem the case.
1. as i said money is not necesary people share goods and services
2. yes i would because each is equally important to one another the doctor needs the street cleaner just as much as the street cleaner needs the doctor. all though i imagine in a communist society people would not be so fat and lazy as to carelessly discard their rubish upon the ground

I would be more interested to know how many people have even read/ studied Marx...
You'd think with all the Che purses and shirts and wallets and patches available you've got plenty of Marxists running around- heh heh.
It seems to me anarchy is just popular because it's seen as rebellion- damn the man.... sort of like punk has been co-opted. It's more just a fashion thing now. Seen as hip- sew "A" patches on your jacket and make sure you're wearing your army boots.

honestly if theorectically speaking, the monetary system was changed in a society so that the value of money was seen in terms of the actual time it took to produce money in terms of labor power...its much more likely an individual could accept the same salary as a different position. If you could have the necesities met by your salaries in theory you probably could be happy. And their would be less jealousy over wages as you wouldnt worry about whether or not you were outcompeting anyone.
Im not saying its a possibility in the world we live in certainly, but in the time before monetary value was established in teh way it has been i think it certainly could have been possible.

NO TRUE COMMUNIST SOCIETY HAS EVER BEEN IMPLEMENTED IN SOCIETY TODAY IT HAS ALL BEEN SOCIALISM, MARXIST, MARXIST-LENINIST, MAOISTS. THE LIST GOES ON. YOU OBVIOUSLY DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT COMMUNISM IS SO HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY BE OPPOSED TO SOMETHING YOU DONT UNDERSTAND? "GIVE WHAT YOU CAN TAKE ONLY WHAT YOU NEED". DO YOU NO WHAT THAT MEANS? OR DO I NEED TO EXPLAIN IT IN ALL CAPITALS AND BOLD AS WELL?

Anarchy, tell me one thing. If everyone shares the resources, why would they work? If the government takes care of them they have no desire to do thier best. And when everyone does this you have to pay useless workers you cant fire, and your tresury will be depleted. See: The Reagan Arms Buildup.

To be fair, what most people understand to be communism is what the US government has labeled communism- e.g.- anything not in line with capitalism. I don't think we've seen anything that would show us that socialism is inherently flawed- can anyone think of an example? Often socialist endeavors were given that name but were truly just despots ruling. Capitalism, on the other hand, has been around long enough to prove itself unsustainable.
