Baseball just started. I wouldn't start talking about this till a little later in the season. Sides' Pittsburgh has waited long enough and now each of it's sports teams are coming back one at a time. Now it's the Pirates turn.

I never understood the name either.

Anyways, I voted for the Red Sox. The only teams that have a chance are New York, Boston, and possibly Toronto.

However, I don't like New York's pitching, and for that reason alone, I'm picking Boston to win the AL East.

NOTE: The Yankess have great hitting, but that alone won't win you ballgames.

I agree. With Bostons pickup of Daisuke Matsuzaka, it can either bring them a world series ring, or behing the devil rays :D

I simply don't like New York, so I picked Boston.

Where's the option that says "no"? Because I don't think it can.

It's called the World Series because when the series was first started, the US was the only place in the world where baseball was played and that name made it sound larger than life....the name was basically a marketing ploy, and has since stuck because of tradition. It's not intended to be an in-your-face to the rest of the world. (Granted, because it's American, people will, of course, think that).

The Red Sox are awesome, and if Beckett and Dice-K continue to pitch like they did this week, the Sox will be in good shape. The Yanks rotation is super shaky and will ultimately have to rely on some prospects filling in and doing well. Although, the Yankees usually have uncanny good fortune in such cases, so who knows?

Why each team can win:
Yankees: Uber-stacked lineup and have won 9 times in a row
Red Sox: Uber-stacked pitching and come through in the clutch
Blue Jays: Finally came in 2nd place in the AL East last year
Orioles:

Devil Rays: Um...drawing a blank. Ok maybe not every team can win.
