The best lager in the world is...

What is your favourite tipple? do you go for strength, flavour, price or anything amber that has no sediment?
are you an evil cider drinker, does a pint of wifebeater float your boat?

these are the questions that we need answers for, and more.

do we want the under agers on this site to go out in the world without the benefit of our cumulative knowledge? nor me.

i drink becks. it is german and makes me talk shite, stagger around and crave kebabs (with all the salads and all the sauces).

edit: i have completely missed all the mexican and spanish lagers as well as krony. may the fires of hell consume me!

lager is served cold and gassy. beer is normally a little warmer and still.
cider for the purpose of this poll, is only drunk by backward inbreds in cornwall.

becks is ace

The best lager in the world is the one you have about 5:35 on a Friday right after work when you know you've got the whole weekend to come ( well it is for me anyway)

i've drank guiness in ireland and it is nice enough, but i had to restrict the poll to lager.

Bell's Porter or the Kalamazoo Stout is the best I think.

90% of lagers are for people who just want thin, yellow alcoholic water with a big ad campaign. Oktoberfest's and Swartzbiers are the only decent lagers.

Most people don't even know the difference between lagers and ales...or care as long as they are drinking "super ultra light skunk piss" right out of the bottle.

Give me an IPA in a glass any day!

Out of the ones you mentioned I liked Carlsberg best. I also like Samuel Adams just fine--I don't know why it gets such a bad rep. When I'm in the proper region I drink Yuengling and enjoy it well enough. When I was in college, I lived in a house with 5 boys, and we bought Miller High Life in gigantic quantities. I didn't enjoy that so much.

I don't really know what lager means, though. Wikipedia says, "The most apparent difference between ales and lagers is that lagers use bottom-fermenting yeast." but that doesn't mean too much to me.

My opinion

bitter is only drunk by bearded geography teachers who wear corduroy and bri-nylon combinations. they propably read the telegraph and enjoy rambling. their name is mr fairclough. or something similar.

the lagers i drink are only made from the finest piss. and should be enjoyed as such.

I used to drink Stella (or as we call it “wife beater” - just 'cause it was the highest strength in the pub - but I've got really sick of the chemical taste to it.
I drink Grolsch in the pub I suppose now, but for a carryout I'd have Peroni Nastro Azzurro (got the taste of it when I was in Rome).
I love the Czech lagers but I’m not a fan of German ones.
My all-time favorite beer is the classy(!) Portuguese beer Super Bock.
Its strong and rough as f*ck on your throat. When I worked in a bar in Portugal we lived on the stuff. (I think they've started selling it in the UK - be warned though, pissed nights will follow!). As a side note they used to advertise this on Portuguese TV with a guy driving a rally car up a mountain, when he gets to the top he gets out the car and cracks open a bottle. Basically advertising drink driving! You'd never get away with that on British TV.

The best one is CISK and it is made in Malta! ;)

Has anyone tried that out by any chance? It is very good.

Belgium produces like 3,000 different beers if I am not mistaken so the best one has got to be one of those.
