I heard of modest mouse...vaguely...at first I thought it was a code name for a DJ...but now that I know it is a band I want to see if I might like them...what genre do they play? Are there any famous bands that they sound like?

oh...indie rock...that immediately rules out the possibility of you telling me a similar band that I would know...k I'll try them someday...I like a couple of indie rock bands...

Well, you can see my username and my signature.
I'm a bit disappointed.
I don't know why.
Dashboard's alright, and I downloaded a leak and of course I'm going to buy the album on its first day out. But.... I don't know. I loved Moon and Antarctica and Good News for People Who Love Bad News is amazing... I just don't know. I don't like the new Smiths-y sound. I can hear Johnny Marr.
