Just because the Bruins finally won a series is no reason to make another thread.

The only good thing to ever come from Boston is Louis CK. Everything else is garbage.

Don't get me started.

OK... TOO LATE.

Since there are way too many "good things" to name that came out of Boston I will only name one every time I post a reply in this thread.

First good thing...
The Revolutionary War for Independence from the Monarchy

Wrong, that's thanks to New Jersey. Without New Jersey, Boston would have remained in British hands forever. In hindsight, it was probably a mistake to liberate the place.

Oh, and I'm no Flyers fan, but don't make me cite the 3-0 comeback from last year.

Blast! Who said the Revolutionary War was a good thing? Do not forget that we're referring to a scattering of nefarious rebels and warmongers united behind a deluded notion of liberty from taxation.

I concur that New Jersey was perhaps a more important campaign in the war, since Washington managed to repel and hold territory around the area, possibly even being a sole reason for a tenuous hold in that area.

However, for New Jersey to be declared the most important is somewhat ludicrous. Do not forget that a cohesive force of guerillas was built at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, ironically, by a Hessian (German). Secondly, do not forget that Saratoga is considered to be a turning point in the war, since the weak, senile Burgoyne surrendered. The failure to capture Charleston was also a blow for the English...

Hey, look, it's a Gothic circus!

It's the men in blue, next year - go Leafs! :D

Yeah but the continentals never would have survived to train at Valley Forge or be victorious at Saratoga had it not been for the consistent holding of New Jersey, and wintering at Morristown. Boston fell to their knees in front of the British like a sawbuck hooker at Suffolk Downs. New Jersey was never a safe haven for the red coats.

There was a lot of "At least the Flyers lost to the Stanley Cup champions" today.

We seem to say that kind of stuff a lot in Philadelphia; especially this year.

"At least the Phillies lost to the World Series champions."
"At least the Eagles lost to the Super Bowl champions."

The freaking Mavericks broke our streak (which would have been awesome).

macho - mascara = not so macho, not quite manly, with a dash of "i-don't-even.jpg"

... because that's not "really" Boston?

Ok... technically it's a different city. That said, the scale of things in New England is smaller than other parts of the country. Our suburbs would be burrows in NYC. Quincy would be the Waterfront District.

We consider anything in the Rte. 128 belt to be "from Boston" when we are talking to people from elsewhere.
