As much as I hate the Royal Family (and the war in Iraq) you've got to hand it to the lad for sticking his neck out here.

I've always had a soft spot for the hash smoking, underage drinking, exam cheating, lap dance going prince.

HARRY FOR KING!

I like the royal family, and I do applaud the decision.

HOWEVER, I hope they manage to keep where he is a secret. Its not really fair on the other soldiers in his regiment if insurgents suddnely have a very high profile target to lob mortars at. If he becomes a danger, a target for otherwise unwarrented hostility, then thats a problem...

Aye, reminds me of a quote by Field Marshal Haig to one of the Royals in the first world war:
Roughly
"I don't mind if you're killed, as long as you're not taken prisoner."

As far as I'm concerned, the whole bloody family can go out there.

Come to think of it, Philip would probably enjoy taking a few pot shots at the natives.

And Nazi-uniform-wearing...? At a "Colonials and Natives" party no less?!

OK, I'll leave off him, he's just a lad. Let's not give him the Romanov treatment yet...

Aye, I know. Normally I'd be outraged at this kind of behavior, but I just thought "is there no-one to tell him that the papers will have a field day with this"

My wee brother went to a fancy dress party two days after this, dressed as Harry dressed as a Nazi - I thought it was quite witty (though I'd wouldn't be happy wearing the swastika myself).

P.S. Apologies if the image offends anyone.

Its on the top banner of the newspaper front page I posted. The Sun is renowned for writing right-wing tosh and scandal reporting. Not to be trusted at all.

Prince Harry is going to go fight in Iraq, that's all I know.

Don't agree with being in Iraq the way they are, but at least he has the decency to actually go and fight. It's for sure not the social elite fighting their own wars... kudos to Harry.

Yeah, you got to hand it to the Prince, actually going there... I wonder if he'll really be placed in a "high risk" area? It might be a good idea to try to conceal his identity, just to try to lessens some risks... any word on if they'll be doing anything special for his security?

now this was a bit of a dig at the press for the royal families german past.
a sense of humour lacking in some modern people with all this politically correctnes shit.

good luck to the lad, his uncle fought in the falklands and he will not be the last to join the armed forces. i am hoping that he does not get killed the same as any other british soldier. i think he is more likely to get killed by `friendly` fire from the americans than anyone else. and yes i am a royalist and proud of it.

I think our royal family are far better than our goverment personally.
Well morally they are in my opinion.

As for Harry going out there. I reckon the lads got balls. Respect to him. Just strengthend my respect of our current royal family

In a bizzare and unexpected twist to the story...

BBC News wrote:Ex-world champion boxer Chris Eubank has been bailed after his arrest for an alleged breach of the peace while protesting in his truck in Whitehall.

He had been driving his truck bearing a banner stating: "Blair, don't send our young prince to your catastrophic illegal war to make it look plausible."

Mr Eubank, 40, of Upper Drive, Hove, East Sussex, was taken to Charing Cross Police Station for questioning.

He was bailed to return to a London police station on 29 March.

Mr Eubank is a familiar figure in his home town of Hove, and can often be seen driving around in a large black truck with his name emblazoned on the side.

He left Charing Cross police station on Thursday night.

Mr Eubank was one of the world's top boxers in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and is renowned for always being immaculately dressed.

he wont be in any danger, the only time he will have a gun in his hand will be for the photo opportunities,i think we should put all the royals in the frontline and actualy get something for all the tax we pay for them to stay in there palaces and huge estates,by the way i dont like the royals much.

We pay 61p in tax towards the royals. Hardly bankrupting us now is it...

And as for Eubank, he is indeed exceedingly dapper.
