Conquer Club

Well, it's done. katie, please... thread has gone over to the other side (page two) and will probably be gone forever more. Since I was the last moron to post on the dumbest of all threads , I decided to make this thread, a place in wich everyone can put in their final thoughts about the thread.

The thread started out as brandon's pathetic attempt to get the his girl back and continued to the thread where everyone was flaming him while he kept making disturbing proclamations of love for s.xkitten. Finally thread evolved into a) a full fledged soap opera of Conquer Club (featuring accusations of rape, stalking, aledged court procedure, cheating, abusing etc.) and b) a place where certain staches could express their homosexuality. In their last update, brandon and s.xkitten both stated that they have find someone else, so the thread lost it's point and finally died.

IMO this thread was one of the funniest threads on CC. The reason it was so amusing was that by 10 everyone knew that posting and reading this thread is a waste of time, but they still kept doing it fore the sheer absurdity of it (some though have stoped for the sheer sanity of it ). I really liked you thread. RIP

Ok, a LITTLE too attached to one thread. Maybe YOU should go out and get a girlfriend...

I admit the burn But that thread was a real mini-phenomena of the cyber culture. If you consider the time and effort spent on that thread that really had no real worth exept as a gay club for certain stache.

I kinda know what you mean. I never saw this thread myself, but I have a few "favourite" threads on other sites, but I was never involved with a single thread like this.

I don't know if you remember a soap called "Santa Barbara". Although the last 1000 episodes were shit, it was still a wierd feeling seeing the last (lame) episode and knowing there is no more. You know what I mean?

Nah. It is just the change, is all.

Never even heard of Santa Barbara. I was quite sad at the end of Friends, but that was good up until the end.

You missed my point. "Friends" was one of the best shows ever. It is easy to understand why you felt sad at the end.
But "Santa Barbara" was a soap opera wich was quite interesting during the first 500 episodes, but had many changes in the cast (not to the better) and ended up as an-attempt-to-milk-a-dead-cow.
But, during the begining of '90. Santa Barbara became a part of Croatian media scene (the show itself was Amrecan made, of course). Jokes were told about it, there were even discussions about cancelling it, some people loved it, some people hated it, some people were indifferent, and one old women payed a Mass for Eden (a character (played by Marcy Walker) in the show who was at the time paralyzed from waist down. THe same character was raped or almost raped at least once a year. Finally she died. Few years after that Marcy Walker came back to the show playing a women-who-looks-like-Eden-but-isn't-really-Eden ). It was a part of life.

No problem, you can thank me when you turn sane again. I got your point first time around, but not many long-period shows I enjoy watching have ended whilst I've been watching them (most ended when I was really young). Friends is about the only one, but because that was good til the end it does not quite apply.

That was one hell of a thread.
