But that doesnt mean its a good thing

If tobacco was a drug that was discovered today, it would never in a million years be allowed to be put on the market. Since it was discovered so long ago, and it has been so ingrained into our culture, it would be impossible to outlaw it.
Cigs are terrible for people, but nothing is going to be done about it because it would just cause a lot of illegal use of it, turning it into another prohibition of alcohol.

Weed should be more socially accepted.
It deserves 1207137x more respect than alcohol.
Weed makes you introspective; Alcohol makes you an ass.

Wow. You can't be serious. Drugs are only illegal in the U.S. as a way of jailing freethinkers. The prohibition on these substances actually turns their distribution over to the black market, rather than creating safe standards of responsible use. this shmuck actually thinks incest and slavery are on par with drug use. "Reefer" has no recorded fatalities, but alcohol has tons, and is legal (and we remember the success of the 18th amendmend). cigarettes are truly dangerous, and have actually been marketed to kids in the U.S. my advice to you, jay_a2j, is  to loosen your collar, smoke a bone, and chill the f*ck out.

"no recorded fatalities"..... you must be on crack. Pot slows reflexes and has been the cause of many a traffic fatality. Not to mention all the crime committed under the influence of pot. No telling how many deaths have occurred there. To say smoking pot has never caused death is complete denial.

I'd be fine with legal pot

The more important thing for me is I think the drinking age should be 14, at least for beer

as for crack.. don't knock till you've tried it''. but the point i'm making is that it is not possible to overdose on marijuana. but i'm more interested in your response to the rest of my rebuttal.

Not really. Crimes aren't commited under the influence of pot (unlike crack - you should see some of those videos with teh child soldiers in africa whn they talk about being given drugs to fight) - do you have any figures to back what you're saying or is this just bashing it on principle?

Alcohol is much worse than weed in almost every aspect, yet that's legal.

why not have it legal ,they use it to help people deal with cancer and ms for the pain and there hasn't been any real studys that it really does any harm to the body.there would be less crime if they legalized it at least in montreal that's for sure. beer and hard liquer are more damaging for your body then weed is.I mean you never hear of smoking and driving causing an accident it's don't drink and drive
