Global Warming My Azz

Postby Caleb the Cruel on Wed Dec 20, 2006 5:08 pm

It's cold and snowy here.
This makes me question Global Warming caused by the human element.
Right now there's around 2 feet of snow on the ground and the blizzard warning won't expire for another 27 hours at least with an average of 2-3 inches of new snow an hour.
And earlier this fall, the temperature was below freezing at all times for 8 days straight.
Of course you'll probably just say it's because this is Colorado and it snows here all the time, but this part of Colorado usually only gets 3 feet of snow a year.

Correlating Colorados weather with that of the entire planet is like saying that all beer in the world sucks because Coors does.

Hey we don't have snow up here...usually we have like 2 feet by now

Not a flake here either. Mind you, you hardly get snow in England, and very rarely white Christmases. I only began to realise that in about 1984, when I was 6.

I felt cheated, considering all the snowy imagery in Christmas cards, Christmas movies, that Bing Crosby song, and so on and so forth.

I still do now.

Having lived in both the deep south and north of the USA, a white christmas is nice when it happens...but I'd rather have the warm weather the other 364 days.

I own a snowblower and wish I didnt! You think you have it bad, what about those in the southern hemisphere like Argentina and Chile? Santa wears shorts!

You are just not listening properly!

Depending on the days weather our learned scholars (fed and clothed by grants) have stated...

"It is so much warmer due to global warming"

and

"This extreme cold weather is the result of global warming"

and

"We had so many hurricanes due to global warming"

and

"This year there were no hurricanes due to global warming"

and....

did I mention grants???

p.s. Those of us who love to ski and are suffering mid forty's instead of snow (due to global warming) have very little sympathy for those of you with to much snow (due to global warming) feel free to ship as much as you like to the midwest!!! Perhaps the extra cold stuff here will help to reduce....

I think you might have missed the common statement: "global warming changes the weather"

No more than I missed the last ice age or will miss the next ice age...

Did I mention grants?

Unseasonably warm here in NY for this time of year! 40's mostly! This however, is not due to global warming but a much needed break from the freeze that is soon to come!

In Wisconsin we just got vertical rain. But we had a foot and a half of snow already. But it melted.

The earth goes through natural cycles of warming and cooling, we have had a recent ice age, relatively speaking. The earth warming up due to the human factor is the biggest bull ever. 30 years ago scientist thought we were going into a global cooling, people are idiots for believing everything they hear. Gore was talking about the biggest iceberg ever recorded, falling off of antartica and melting. but what he didnt tell you was that antartica actually gained more ice that year then it lost. So screw al gore and global warming.

Wait, you're saying that even thoguht you noticed a change its not global warming, its a neede break??? on long island it was in the 70s during november! Another tinhg, these scientists aren't pulling these statements out of their asses,

Global warming causing cooler temeprature: Melting more arctic ice which is cooling down the oceans causing more extreme winters in places like germany and so forth

Global Warming causing hurricanes: Hurricanes are caused by warm water (from the oceans which are being warmed due to greenhouse gases) meeting the cold air (coming form the unusually cold arctic ocean) there we have more hurricanes and more extreme hurricanes.

When did you hear there were no hurricanes due to global warming? These past few years have seen one of the largest increases in hurricanes ever, such extreme changes in temperature don't happne in a century or two, they take thousands of years to happen. The permafrost in some places in canada are melting for the first time in hundred of thousands of years, and they were frozen jsut a few decades ago.

Before criticizing the scientists who are giving you warnings look into the science behind it instead of being an pompous jerk and pretending you know more about the atmosphere than someone who's been studying this stuff for years.
