Like I said, it wasn't terribly likely. Besides, it would be more of a long-term strategy, like if one of you got busted on day three, the other could say 'hey I suspected him/her back on day one but they fooled me' sort of thing. I'll shut up about that now.

you're right Incans... I got on a role and just kept going...lol. I've yet to ask anyone their actual WC, so it still might be usable. That "don't say anything" speech was mainly for the noobs and peeps I hadn't played with before, of which there are a lot in this game.

Fair enough. It's just that the WC is probably the most valuable piece of information we have right now, and it should definitely be employed judiciously.

At this point, I don't think we're rushing a vote. We have two more real days, and as infrequently as some of you are coming on, it's time to vote.

Voting for UCA Bears will tell us NOTHING at this point. We need to go for a lynch we can learn something from.

I agree, but I'm still not completely sold on minkish. Then again, if I'm going to wait for a smoking gun, we might be here for awhile.

A UCA lynch only tells us something inasmuch as it reflects on Wisse, but enough people are pissed at UCA right now that the mafia wouldn't really stand out from the pissed townies.

Now that you mention it, the purple lightning has been suspiciously absent. Part of me wants to give him a pass given all the other mafia games he's in, but he's been busy before and has always posted regularly.

And lastly, just because it's day 1 doesnt' mean we can't learn as much as possible, after all, we had like 10 days!!

True, but there comes a point where no new information is really being dumped into the system, and this whole thread becomes a weird echo chamber where the smallest think becomes suspicious and one's mind can turn paranoid... viz., the top of this post.

QFE. I share xenhu's dismay at trestain's divulging of info. The heat wasn't on him, just an FOS. So for him to divulge the color, especially when wicked asked minkish (not tres), was not a good call.

I don't buy the skimming thing. It's become an article of faith that all mafia skim. Well, maybe the bad ones do. Trestain's doctor code in the last game (or senfive's tipoff to supercram about his double voter status) would be a good example: everyone freaked out on him for hinting, he freaked out on everyone for drawing attention to it, meanwhile the mafia (yours truly in that game) saw the clue to begin with and laughed out loud. Yeah, maybe someone skimming wouldn't have picked up on his clue, but someone paying even a modicum of attention would have. The trick with codes is to not only convey information, but to bury it so deeply in the text of the post that the mafia wouldn't even know that there was a code. Which, of course, is next to impossible. In my brief time playing these games, I've seen so many more hints go awry than find their mark that they should only be attempted by seasoned pros.

Sorry for the long post, but I was constrained in my ability to post this afternoon, and I won't be able to get back on until late tonight (300 on Imax, oh yeah).

sorry Mink, it's how we play here, helps get us going the first day. if the mods didn't like it, they'd publish the WC's and vanilla role descriptions, as I've seen done in games elsewhere.

Yeah, apologies to those that don't like the Role PM method of playing. I fall into that category as well and forgot to post the vanilla role PM in the rules. It wouldn't be fair to change the rules mid game, but rest assured I will not forget (often) in the future.

I just got in here like yesterday or the day before and have been extremely busy studying for 9 weeks tests. ....... and I have read some of the pages and he seems suspicius.

WEll, I'm done reading the thread. About me not posting as much as I usually do there are too reasons, I've started an activity on Mon-Thur. that will not let me come on until 2 hours later. Also, I check the other mafia games here, due to the large amount of posts to handle compaired to the small amounts of the others. Also, when I get on the activity stops.

I think Minkish is acting very suspiciously and also making the game a bit less fun. HE should learn how to shut up. I also find AD suspicious there was no need to bring out the "hint" that Trestain did. Also, he hates it when people post parts of pms. Is there any more things he hates. He made 2 votes for things he hates, and I'm starting to think it's his way of trying to bandwagon.
