i have never had a detention or been sent to the office at all in elementary, middle or high school so far. my school has a 1 to 1 ratio: if you are tardy or unexcused absent ONCE you get an hour of detention. so you can rack up 7 hours of it A DAY. last year there was a senior who had over 300 hours with 2 weeks of school left... needless to say she wasnt at graduation...

Foreigners cqn hqve all rights except our nationalite an the right to vote. They are not french. Being french is either deserved, or inherited. If they join the army or serve France in what way they can and truly love France, they may become citizens. But I object to people who do not take on our culture becoming French (though I think it is far to say they must convert first, provided they renounce their culture and join France fully in every way, Im satisfied).

Also, we are talking about an ideal state of union and respect for the traditions of France, not something acheivable. It's still your responsibility to learn as much as you can despite the bias of an instructor. I've had my own disagreements with Guiscard and almost never agree with him. But you know what?...his disagreements have sharpened my own intellect. You have no excuse for your own apathy as it applies to your own learning. Frederick Douglass had almost nothing as far as material possessions and lived in a system hostile to people of his own race. He made deals with white kids to give him copies of their homework so he could learn what they were learning. He made no excuses.

I'm not going to tell you that teacher's don't show their bias and it gets old after awhile. I had to pretend to espouse liberal beliefs during the essay portion of my PRAXIS test in order to obtain my teaching credential. Just play the game for the time being, and do your best to come up with positions that you think will help out you, your family, and your community.

All teachers have biases, but they also have a wealth of knowledge that you don't possess yet. That's why you're a student. If you'd shut your mouth for 2 seconds and listen to what Guiscard is saying you might just learn a thing or two. But it's your choice.

The Franks are a major contributor (as in much more than tens of thousands. The clue is in the name...) and were a Germanic tribe who came over the Rhine about the third century.

The Normans, another example of significant immigration were Scandinavian in origin and culture.

Yes and Yes (although top leader isn't exactly the term I'd use ). They probably formed the largest contingent, and th nobility in the Holy land were French for the most part. Indeed, the Arabs identified the crusaders wholly as Franks (even the Germans, English etc. etc.).
