Not really. I'm hoping not, that way I won't be obligated to get something for them in return.
I hate getting people presents. I got suckered into getting a gift for a friend, couldn't find anything, didn't want to spend too much, didn't want to look cheap either, didn't know what they already had etc Sooo I had a genius idea, I'd ask them what they wanted and get that. The answer? "You should know what I like" I wanted to punch her in the face. Haven't spoken in quite a while... aheh.
Presents
aside from the fact that im crushed that you meant me....
that doesnt really answer the question, obligations aside, do you like getting presents? most people do. If your gonna buy someone something, the more time you spend in buying a thing usually makes it more akward. Usually you wanna find something that shows you didnt spend all day obsessing over the perfect gift, rather you saw something that you thought they would like or reminded them of you.
If your the creative type then it should look like you spent time putting it together cause then it shows more care, like most homemade gifts or ideas usually do.
Really as far as birthdays/christmas go, it seems like it would be more fun to do something for the person ie come up with some kind of date or cook or put your mind together and come up with something than buying them a gift.
