Your thoughts on the Iranian retaliation?

This was not a proportionate retaliation by Iran - the U.S. should nuke five Iranian cities in response to the hack of the Deposit Library website

When facts do not support your hypothesis, attack the person(s) citing evidence. THAT is the way to win the argument; that technique works every time.

Didn't you just say that the evidence is unbelievable? They must be lying.

Evidence say that your IQ is low!

Unlike US, Iran apologized when enough evidence were obtained. And they didn't cover up the story, as you and DoomYoshi hoped for... I know this hurts you a lot.
On the other hand US is still looking for IRaq's WMD's, no apology so far, you are not even considering of such thing.

Admitting that something is wrong is the first step at fixing things... Unfortunately for both of you and the American nation, US haven't reach that point ;)

What does this sentence mean? Do you have a learning disability or something? I think they would know whether or not they shot the plane down.

Like, murderers only need to apologize when enough evidence is obtained? Is that how morality works?

Have you tried asking US president how morality works?

I guess what he's saying is that when the US shot down an Iranian passenger plane in the 1980s they (from then until the present day) refused to apologise or even admit any error even after all the facts of the incident had been established, whereas since the Iranian government shot down a Ukrainian passenger plane they have assessed the evidence and admitted fault within a matter of days.

I like Goranz's moxie!

Even though we're on opposite sides for this round we're still playing on the same team.

Incorrect. The U.S. bought Iran a new plane (well it was a used plane, but a replacement one at least). The U.S. also paid $300,000 to the family of every Iranian aboard the aircraft, which is what the Federal Office of the Chief Actuary had appraised the value of an Iranian. And, President Reagan issued "deep regret" which is one level below apology.

In fairness, I'm not sure they did know. It seems plausible to me that a military commander(s) responsible was/were concealing the evidence from his/their own government. It's not unheard of. Even in democracies, the military will sometimes go a long way to prevent the government from finding out how badly they screwed up. That tendency is even greater in dictatorships.

Protests in Iran against...? USA? No, protests by Iranians against their own government. I wonder why.

Iran: protests and teargas as public anger grows over aircraft downing

Authorities break up second day of demonstrations that continued into the evening

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jan/12/iran-riot-police-anti-government-backlash-ukraine

The resurgent anti-government protests threaten to tip Iran’s regime into crisis just as it was riding a wave of nationalist sentiment after the killing of top general Qassem Suleimani by a US drone strike on 3 January.

Iran’s response – a carefully calibrated but heavily publicised ballistic missile attack on US forces in Iraq last Wednesday – was supposed to bring catharsis and demonstrate the regime’s power.

Instead, by leading to the shooting down of a passenger jet loaded with Iranian citizens, it has humiliated the military and exposed some of its top leaders as having lied to the country for days until the admission on Saturday morning that an Iranian missile was responsible for the crash.

On the day of Iran's retaliation the American Propaganda Service announced no one had been harmed, in order to generate support for the American government from the American populace. They later admitted 64 soldiers had been wounded. Now they have admitted 109 have been wounded. As the Americans Lies and Deceit (tm) continue to be exposed for the lies and deceit they are, how high will the real figure rise? And when will the brainwashed American public realise they have been lied to?

The number of US troops suffering from traumatic brain injuries (TBI) after an Iranian attack on a US base in Iraq in January has risen to 109, according to US officials.

The figure is a significant increase from the 64 injured service members previously reported by the Pentagon.

President Donald Trump initially said no Americans were injured in the raid.
