16. is it orel hershiser? DING DING DING....we have a winnah!!! I dug orel when I was a kid...not sure why now, but back then he was pretty good.

HAH! AL basebal is sooooooo much more fun. I will agree that NL style of baseball is far more old-school and more strategic, though. But, damn, I love the AL.... GO SOX!

lol, colossus, we can debate which league is more fun, but the point is the AL game isn't really baseball. it's a bastardized, fake version.....imagine if you souped up other games by fundamentally altering the rules as with the DH....

EVERY sport goes through revisions to the rules in order to keep fans, man. football has revisions to rules about roughing the QB and interference. Hockey gets rid of the two-line offsides, etc. Arguing the purity of any sport is nonsense...hell, the basic advancements of technology have altered all sports in some fashion or another. The AL is SO still really baseball, but pitchers don't have to be ballplayers, they just have to pitch. There is no question that the AL has more talent at both pitching at hitting than the NL does. The NL is clearly the faster, more elegant league. So, I can see how some people dig the NL more, but, DUDE, come ON, the AL is still baseball....

lol, nary a true argument in all that drivel, son. AL didn't introduce DH to keep fans. your examples from other sports don't touch the issue, which you did raise: AL pitchers don't have to be ballplayers. i never said anything about purity. contrasting the talent of the leagues doesn't bear on the subject. in AL ball, pitchers don't have to actually play the game as it was designed. i just think that's crap. it's a hokey twist to the game that values flash over substance and strategy. like 50 cent compared to talib kweli or something.....sorry to take up the 20 questions thread with this, i'll take any more of this offline w/ colossus, i guess....cheers
