lol, quote of the week. Thanks, PS!

You're welcome, smart person. So funny, is it not?? Here, let me laugh with ya, at me of course.

Quote it all you want, quote if for the year. Please? Just be sure to add the video with your quote to embarrass me even further. Deal?

It's blatantly clear not enough people know what's going on, not even the smart ones.

(insert smackdown comments here)

You missed that 'science and engineering' bit. Is this where you start foaming at the mouth and go on about teh MUSLIMS!!!! AND NASHAARRRR!! takin over teh Obama wurld!!!

and.....I think you missed the "......foremost he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world" bit. The fomenting is all you. It's still good enough for you to quote me for quote of the week though

You're not even quoting him correctly, but it's not surprising that you refuse to listen to your own sources in their entirety.

While reading any material, do you blank out the disagreeable parts which you immediately fill with your nonsense? Are you capable of recalling these instances? (Honest questions).

I am pretty sure that Phatscotty is one of those people who thinks that President Obama thinks the U.S. has 57 states, so this is a lost cause.

I quoted him word for word. What's up with all the lies? The text is at the end of the video. I made sure that every single word was correct, just like I am making sure to spell every word correctly in anticipation of a spell check attack.

Maybe you want to watch it again

Context is important. The administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration obviously does not think the primary goal of his organization is to help the US get along with Muslim nations (although if that is the case, then good on Congress for furloughing all those employees because NASA hasn't been doing a good job!). As evidence for this, I submit the fact that the NASA headquarters is still in Washington, D.C. and not Riyadh. Also, the fact that NASA currently operates more than 10 space telescopes and helps keep the International Space Station working, with only about 1% of its budget going towards education. This is also not to mention the fact that NASA doesn't even currently do any outreach because of sequestration earlier this year.

Given all of that, a more reasonable understanding of his statement is that the primary goal of NASA's outreach activities relates to the U.S.'s relationship with predominantly Muslim nations, not the primary goal of NASA itself.

It is somewhat disheartening to hear/read Democrats being outraged at jibes from Republicans regarding the foibles of the president's speaking abilities when Democrats were quick to point out how unintelligent President Bush sounded.

It is also somewhat disheartening to hear/read Republicans jibing the president's speaking ability, while being quick to defend President Bush.

Sometimes people who engage in public speaking make gaffes. It happens to everyone (except Bill Clinton).

That's not what happened here. It was obviously a joke, not a gaffe. That's why the "jibes" make no sense.

There have been other situations, which I'm sure I can find for you, although I'm not all that interested. President Obama is intelligent. President Bush is intelligent. I'm fairly certain most presidents had above average intelligence; people make mistakes.

Of course. If people were poking fun at Obama for making a mistake, that would be one thing and I wouldn't care. I made fun of President Bush for saying "nuke-you-lar" too. But I have definitely seen comments about that clip with far more negative comments.

Are you? And if you are, are you prepared to criticize Democrats and the president for not implementing a single payor system (keeping in mind they controlled Congres and the White House at the time the ACA was enacted)?

Yep. I was pretty pissed with the President and the Senate when the Democrats gave up on the single-payer option. The resulting ACA is a bastard child that no one really wants. Well, except possibly insurance companies.

Alright Mets. In order for us to communicate, I'm going to need to know how me posting a John Stewart clip and saying it's one of his better moments in any way can be translated to mean I endorse his request for a single payer system. Plus, you know I am ardently against a single payer system.

What's up

$93,000,000
$634,320,919

The first number is how much the company was contracted for building the Obamacare website. The second number is the actual amount it has cost so far (knowing that there are still massive defects in the site that must be fixed). If it cost 7 TIMES as much money than what was predicted just to build a faulty website, how much more will the REAL cost be of the actual Obamacare? How is this "affordable"?

I'm impressed that we managed to spend over half a billion dollars on a website.

Which reminds me:

What I enjoyed about TGD's basic position in any firearms debate was his point of view which considered politicians' interests--as well as their donators. In short, this is called 'rent-seeking'. Without a clear understanding of rent-seeking, then any appeal to the state will be counter-productive. Ignoring this approach leads to simply delectable regurgitations for the status quo of our rent-seeking societies (US and EU countries included).
