lol. better yet, put potassium or even Rubidium in the pool. heheheh. BOOM!

Your not thinking BIG enough!

How about FRANCIUM?

Doesnt francium give out a radiation as well as making a huge explosion?

Not sure. Although "huge explosion" is a slight understatement concerning Francium.

Em, there's only like 20 atoms of francium in the world.

How do they know that? There could be a francium field somewhere in a oil field or something which has several million atoms, which takes up about a space the size of a thumb.

they don't want to mention that possibility, lest the "terr'ists" start searching for it :P

I should clarify. There's only about 20 atoms estimated to be anywhere in the world that haven't already reacted (i.e. gone boom) and extracting them, aside form being costly and pointless, would probably cause them to go boom instantly anyway so in the interests of not getting their heads blown off, no-one's ever gone digging for your so-called francium oil field.

you're all talking shit...

Francium, of which there is no practical application, due to rarity and instability, is theorised to have a few grammes worth at any time in the earths atmosphere.

Francium doesnt go "bang"...it just decays...it has a very low half-life, so it just degenerates into other forms.

Atoms are fucked. The very fact that everything in existence is made up of three different things that can re-arrange themselves is a strange thought.

Do you realise something like 90% of atoms is just nothing. Therefore, 90% of our body is actually nothing, we are only 10% something. Wierd eh...

Its alot more than 90%...more like 99.999999999%

I think its more along the lines of this...

Imagine the solar system to be an atom....the sun being a solid cluster of protons and neutrons, with the planets orbiting it at different levels...ie the electrons.

The empty space in between the planets is nothing...absolute nothingness....

Not really, that's a shitty comparison. This is what they said it was like: An atom, if bloated to the size of a stadium, would house a nucleus roughly the size of a marble, with electrons that are even smaller.

besides...I think they are comparable examples...

the sun is one big mo-fo.

In fact...

Being the sad bastard I am, I have just found that the sun/solar system ratio is only about a factor of 4 times larger than the sports ground/marble ratio...

...my penis grows another 3 inches..

I read in my physics book that its like if the nucleus is a stadium, the electron is equivalent to a satellite in the outer atmosphere.

I am glad we have an understanding.

Keep up the good work.

Defnitely not in size. electrons are a bunch smaller than a proton, and there are always numerous protons in a nucleaus. An electron would be really small, like a period at the end of this sentence.

from Brewster Rockit: Space Guy!, a futurama-esque comic strip that used to be funny, if the nucleus were about a half centimeter in diameter than each electron would be about a half mile's distance away.

And Salt is bad for you, in large quantities. As it can dry out water, having too much in your system can make you dehydrate. Remember that children.

P.S., I hate adding salt to my food. :P

Just got to correct you here.

YOU NEED SALT FOR YOUR BODY TO FUNCTION PROPERLY :!:

I like how you only bolded the part you want to refute, not the "in large quantities" after that validates his statement.

I remember reading once, that if the Sun were the size of a basketball, the nearest star would be in South Africa. The book in which I read that didn't specify which country was the starting point.
