During the recent floods across Iran, the sanctions kept Iran from receiving any foreign financial aid to assist flood-hit people in many parts of the country.

Over the past 29 years there has been at least 200 accidents involving Iranian commercial flights, killing over 20,000 citizens. These accidents are blamed on the limited access to sanctioned aeroplane parts. Many Iranian aircrafts are recognised as the oldest planes in the world, predating the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

European banks, fearing secondary US penalties, are reluctant to do business with Iranian companies even those not blacklisted by the US. Medical companies have had to resort to paying intermediaries exorbitant sums to secure needed supplies, including imported medicines and medical instruments which have more than tripled in value during Iran's rapidly dropping currency, health professionals explain.

A middle-aged man suffering from lung cancer writhes and squirms on his hospital bed as Dr. Behrouz Emami checks on him. His eyes bulge as he gasps for air through an oxygen mask.

The cancer has metastasized to the man's brain, Emami explains. The doctor has recommended to the patient's family that he be sent to a private ward where he can spend his final days with his family.

But the family simply cannot afford it, says Emami.

Iranian-Americans, who are allowed under U.S. law to send money to elderly parents in Iran, cannot find any bank in the United States or Europe that will wire the funds.

Charities that raised money for emergency relief in response to the devastating 2012 earthquake in northern Iran were turned down by dozens of banks as they tried to send the funds to Iran — even though they had a license from the U.S. Treasury Department.

Iranians attempting to download software, such as Adobe Acrobat or MacAfee AntiVirus, find the websites blocked.

Only Trump could make the Iranians look the adults in the room.

Don't know about some of the others, but Der Spiegel and FP are pretty highly respected sources.

Der Spiegel says top journalist faked stories for years
The media world was stunned by the revelations that the award-winning journalist Claas Relotius had, according to the weekly, “made up stories and invented protagonists” in at least 14 out of 60 articles that appeared in its print and online editions, warning that other outlets could also be affected.

Relotius, 33, resigned after admitting to the scam. He had written for the magazine for seven years and won numerous awards for his investigative journalism, including CNN Journalist of the Year in 2014.

I'm pretty sure that one bad apple doesn't mean the basket is rotten.

You'd be pretty hard-pressed to find any organization that's never had a scandal.

the bad apple was in the basket for 11 years... if 1 person got away with it for 11 years,. .no telling how many others got away with it either there or other news outlets. .. that 1 reporter just happened to finally get caught... 11 years .. 25% of his articles..

if the editors or higher ups do not care about fact checking their own stories.. then the basket is rotten & should not be trusted..

CNN pumps out fake stories daily .. but they won't say they are opinion pieces.. or just plain propaganda..

Reuters:

U.S. sanctions have prevented the Iranian Red Crescent from obtaining any foreign financial aid to assist victims of flooding that has killed at least 70 people and inundated some 1,900 communities, the group said on Sunday.

BBC:

A cargo plane crash near the Iranian capital, Tehran, has killed 15 people, Iran's army says.

This is the latest in a series of Iranian plane crashes in recent years.

Years of tough US sanctions have prevented officials from purchasing new planes and critical spare parts.

American Society of Clinical Oncology:

There is mounting evidence that economic sanctions simply harm vulnerable populations in target countries, while blocking the globalization process and doing little to effect political or social change. The drug accessibility for cancer patients in Iran is a human rights concern. Improvement of the NCCP status is not feasible unless sanctions are lifted.

Leaders of Russia, China, EU line up to criticize America for its bullying of Iran:

Russia, China condemn US’ unilateral sanctions against Iran

In addition to China and Russia, European Union (EU) has also expressed its opposition to the US unilateral sanctions on Iran

BBC report on how the people suffering most as a result of American sanctions are Iran's poor and sick:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-mid ... -the-price

Thousands of Iranian children unable to afford food, medicine or school equipment, all because the American government decided it wanted to bully Iran into revising a deal that Russia, China, France, the UK, Germany and the US had all previously agreed was fair and that Iran was complying with.

Another victory for big bad Trump! Which country's disabled children will he be picking on tomorrow?
