That's fine, and its not just old school hip-hop that I'm into - there's plenty of quality new hip-hop coming outa both the US and the UK. I just don't really like being told I don't know what I'm talkin about because I'm not into commercial crunk and I'm from the UK. To me that's not really hip-hop. If you got a young metalhead today who said he'd never rally heard of Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath what do you think people who had been around the scene for a bit longer would say? I just wish people would educate themselves a bit and learn where the roots of the music they like are... I do know shit about crunk, I hear it enough in clubs (as a DJ). I just choose not to play it and I haven't got much respect for it.
I really mourn the loss of integrity in new commercial hip-hop, and people could find some really good shit if they just looked past what's in the charts and what the big labels are pushing.
I'm not mad at you, I'd rather you just looked up a few names which have been thrown around by me and others... Might do you some good.
