I used yoshi, and I'm not sure exactly what the distance is

yoshi can get around 1800 feet, or maybe more

yes, I can only a-smash sometimes, so I barely get a chance to weaken it first.

with yoshi, jump up and use a-down. you should repeatedly kick the bag, giving it 20-35 damage every jump. You should be able to do 4-6 jumps, giving it 150 damage and a long hit

lucky you... when I was playing, the only "competition" I had were the kids who kept breaking my controllers with their spastic smash attacks

There is some good competition for me too, it's just that since I suck, it wouldn't be good for the rest of you. MUST GET BETTER!

Haven't been in this thread a while. I only read the last several pages. Why is it that everyone thinks Link is the best character in the game. His Up-B blows except as a spike. It has a semi-meh startup time and extreme ending lag. Basically, you can only hit stupid people with Up-B. When it was my Mario versus my brother's Link, he tried to spam Up-B, and I kept dodging it and royally punishing him. He can only hit me one of 10 times mid field [almost always when spiking], and when he hits it wasn't worth it. Link's also kinda slow unless played properly [Link is very hard to play decently]. Shadowstar says that his Up-B was a habit.

Also, about tier stuff. At the higher tiers, they are almost all the same. The tier lists are created by tournament victories. Mostly its Foxes that win at tournaments so they get top tier. Also, about Shiek and Fox, Fox is a PAIN to play properly, Shiek is easy to learn, but is so straightforward that at a high level of play she requires an intense amount of brain power cause everyone knows how to beat her. Fox can be played with raw tech skill, Shiek requires more brainpower than reflexes. Shiek mostly dominates the casual players.

And Luigi kinda sucks. He's fun to play as, but if it weren't for his wavedash... X_X. He is deadly when used in the right hands, but that can be said about many a character. I heard Chu Dat dominated tournaments with Pichu.

The tier lists only tell who is going to win at an equal level of skill. However, that almost never happens, so you can pick who you are most comfortable with. Also, there are some character specific matchups. Pikachu rapes Jigglypuff as her 4th hardest matchup I believe, and Luigi can beat Mario one on one even though Mario is at a higher position. Mario has a bigger problem with Peach and Marth than Fox. Its not just all tier lists.

And Ganondorf is a decent character, not bad. And I played some matches today <3
