seeing as how you're pretty much as far away from your native land as you can possibly be, do you feel "safe" enough to practice falun gong?

Falun Gong is for good-for-nothing hippies.

Well, at least you're not calling them a threat or anything like that.

I have noticed that a lot of Chinese immigrants/spies have a horribly old fashioned "western" name such as "rose" or "Shirley". I assume they do this to make it easier for us westerns to communicate with them. do you have one and, if u don't, what would you choose?

You should hear some of the English names people who haven't left China choose. Rainy, Shiny, Crystal... The best I ever heard was 'Hitler'. (to be fair, I should mention that some foreigners adopt really stupid ass Chinese names when they arrive in China as well - 'big mountain', 'many flying dragons' etc. I bet khaz used to go around calling himself 'power fists' and thinking he was really cool).

It's mostly just because a lot of Chinese names are almost always pronounced incorrectly by non-Chinese speakers, so it's easier (and less irritating) just to have an English name that people will alway pronounce correctly. Happily I can use the same name in both languages without difficulty :D

If I was going to adopt a totally random English moniker then it'd be Lou or something.
