Well your reaction is understanable. That post was delibratly visceraln and exagerated, I was trying indeed to provoke a reaction from you
your phallic personifications aside, let us consider Iraq, a country that has, lets face facts, only existed due to totalitarian rule by Saddam. It seems to me what we did was overthrow Saddam Hussein, who was guilty of many crimes against humanity, and was generally, I think we can safely say, a negative influence on Iraq.
Now the power vacuum has resulted in these people tearing each other apart, namely through sectarian violence. I suggest therefore, as a solution, not absolute, but certainly one which would create a huge difference in the current situation, is to split Iraq into three parts :
a.Kurdistan, a relative success, civilized people willing to establish a stable economy and build toward a constructive goal with their liberators, which we could defend with a mere handful of troops from incursions.
b. A Western Sunni state.
c. An Eastern Shi'ite state.
Given the internecine nature of Iraq's current, one almost could say, civil war, to give each faction its own state seems to me a reasonable solution. Now these people seem opposed to allied presence, and to be honest, are behaving like ungrateful savages. I suggest we leave their kind to their own, and let them sort out their own problems. We sorted out Saddam, maybe for the wrong motives, acknowledges, but now they dont want us. Fine. Why should our troops die in some godforsaken desert for ingrates who hate them?
