I wholeheartedly disagree.

I wholeheartedly couldn't care any less.

I'm half and half on this whole thing.

True I think we should arm ourselves, but some more then others, and some less then others.

For me, my whole family is very well armed but not because of humans but because of the moose and bears that come though my yard every now and then, they are even worse then a human even with out a gun.

I live in an urban place, and the worse we can see outside is a cat.

So why would anyone living near me would be armed?

Well if everyone had a gun and someone went on a rampage, it would be very likely that someone (maybe more then one person) would be sane enough to shoot him down.

That situation relies on the sanity of humans... dangerous territory. :?

But if no one had a gun, no rampage would happen.

Better safe than sorry.

What if they like hunting? Do you live in a big city by any chance? If so, not 100% sure on this. but gangs are more commonplace in big cities and tend to "pack heat". In Wyoming, around 2/3 of the population have guns, many own more then one. They are used for hunting, practice, and contests. Rarely for crime here. (Sorry for going off, but I had to say it). When you here of a drive-by shooting in Wyoming, it makes the front pages. And most of those are done by people who have moved from larger cities. They would use the guns for either hunting, crime, or defense if they have any.
"Eh, whatever."

Yes, but the only thing you can hunt here is wild birds. And even there, those who hang out around McDonalds aren't something good for hunting..

That’s a common problem.

When ever I do go into town, there is so much graffiti every where, and news about murders that are gang related.

Yeah, and you learn to respect them too, last winter we had an avalance about mile from us, killed two people (one of them I knew).

ooh, sorry about that. Though with mountains (in Laramie at least), no floods (major ones), to far from the mountains to be affected by avalanches, tornadoes do hardly any harm (aside from throwing some small rocks into the air), no earthquakes, but drought can sometimes be a problem, same with snow. :?

Lucky... I once had 3 tornadoes around my house at once (within a 5-mile radius). Did a little more than picking up a couple rocks.

Yeah when we have droughts you can tell by the streams that something is going on.
As with the heavy snow. Good thing is (as long as it is not to heavy and wet) you can go outside and your backyard is your own ski area.

We had to stop in Terre Haute, Indiana (seeing family) when a tornado touched down near to the town. That was not my first one, but still it was something I don’t deal with that much (that is with my house on the plains of Colorado, near Falcon, Colorado).

It's been awhile since I have been back to Laramie. Last time I was in Wyoming I was up in Cody at the rodeo. I also stayed a few nights in Thermopolis one time too. But it’s been about 6-7 years since I popped into Laramie.
